MONROE - Mark C. Rufener, 20, Monticello, was arrested for third-offense drunken driving, resisting arrest, failure to notify police of an accident, failure to maintain control of a vehicle, driving left of center and failure to obey a sign following a one-vehicle accident at about 3 a.m. Friday on County D south of Wisconsin 92. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Rufener left the road and overturned. He fled the scene but was later located. He sustained injuries but declined medical attention. He was jailed. The vehicle received extensive damage and was towed. The Monticello Fire Department and New Glarus Emergency Medical Services assisted.
• A vehicle driven by Angela R. Blum, 34, Monticello, hit a deer at about 11:45 a.m. Friday in the N8000 block of Wis. 69 in New Glarus township. The vehicle received moderate damage.
