Monroe Police

MONROE - Police responded at 7:03 a.m. to 12th Street and 14th Avenue for a two-vehicle accident. Jenna P.A. Smith, 16, Monroe, collided with a vehicle driven by Joan A. Coppes, 65, Monroe. Coppes suffered minor injuries and declined medical attention. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and were driven from the scene. Smith was cited for failure to yield right-of-way.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Monday:

• No injuries were reported at 8:55 a.m. from a two-vehicle crash in the N1300 block of Wisconsin 69, Town of Clarno. Melany A. Fox, 42, Freeport, told deputies she was northbound when she became distracted with something inside her vehicle. She rear-ended a truck and trailer carrying cows driven by Jacob W. Piske, 33, Marengo, Illinois, as he was slowing down to turn into Equity Co-op aLivestock Sales, N1365 Wis. 69. He said his turn signal was on. His truck sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene. The trailer sustained moderate damage and was left at Equity Sales. No cows were injured in the crash. Fox's vehicle sustained severe front-end damage and was towed from the scene. She was cited for inattentive driving.

• The following vehicle vs. animal crashes were reported: Ashley K. Kittoe, 43, Mount Horeb, in the W7700 block of Farmers Grove Road, Town of York; Elden D. Jelle, 43, Brooklyn, in the W5200 block of County W, Town of New Glarus; Nathan W. Strutz, 46, Verona, and James R. Riese, 42, Monroe, in the N5900 block of Wis. 69, Town of Mount Pleasant.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Monday:

• Courtney L. Metz, 28, Darlington, reported at 7:06 a.m. that she hit a deer on Mount Pleasant Road, Town of Lamont. No injuries were reported. Her 2017 Mitsubishi sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

• Cara S. Divine Biddick, 37, Mineral Point, reported at 5:16 p.m. that she hit a deer on Wis. 23, Town of Willow Springs. No injuries were reported. Her 2013 Chevrolet sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.

• Craig R. Thoman, 48, Argyle, reported at 6:51 p.m. that he hit a deer on Wis. 81, Town of Argyle. No injuries were reported. His 2015 Chevrolet sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.

• David S. Gould, 45, Argyle, reported at 7:15 p.m. that he hit a deer on Gravel Run Road, Town of Darlington. No injuries were reported. Gould's 2012 Ford sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.
