Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Benjamin W. Houghton, 33, Freeport, Ill., was arrested at 1:08 p.m. Monday for driving while intoxicated, third offense, and several other offenses after his vehicle crashed into a ditch on County OK south of Ten Eyck Road, Town of Decatur. Houghton was northbound on County OK when he lost control of his vehicle and went off the road and into the ditch, hitting an embankment. Houghton was transported to Monroe Clinic ER via Brodhead EMS for possible injuries or a medical problem. Houghton was also arrested for driving a vehicle without an ignition interlock device, open intoxicants in a vehicle, criminal driving after revocation, expired registration and on a Rock County warrant for failure to appear. Houghton was jailed pending court.

On Tuesday:

• Jonathan S. Albright, 22, Rock City, Ill., was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash on County S north of Preston Road, Town of Jefferson, at 2:10 a.m. Albright was southbound on County S when he lost control of his vehicle due to the icy roadway and entered the ditch. The vehicle hit a mailbox and then overturned, sustaining moderate damage. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

• Sarah J. Rowley, 16, Brodhead, sustained non life-threatening injuries in a one-vehicle accident on Wisconsin 11 east of Mt. Hope Road, Town of Spring Grove, at 7:35 a.m. Rowley was eastbound on Wis. 11 when she lost control of her vehicle due to the ice-covered bridge and hit a guardrail. The vehicle rolled over and was moderately damaged and then towed from the scene. Rowley was transported via Brodhead EMS to Monroe Clinic ER. Deputies, Brodhead police and Brodhead Fire Department assisted at the scene.

• Kevin J. Stauffer, 56, Monticello, reported that at 2:40 a.m. he was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash in the W9500 block of County CC, Town of Exeter. Stauffer reported his vehicle slid into a ditch due to ice on the roadway and his vehicle hit a road sign. The vehicle was moderately damaged and was driven from the scene.

• Michael D. Froseth, 35, Monroe, was uninjured in a deer vs. vehicle accident that occurred on Wis. 11 near County KK, Town of Sylvester, at 5:54 p.m. Froseth was westbound on Wis. 11 when a deer ran into the roadway and hit his vehicle. The vehicle was moderately damaged and was driven from the scene.

• Lisa B. Isensee, 40, Blanchardville, was uninjured in a deer vs. vehicle crash that occurred in the N8300 block of County J, Town of York, at 8:12 p.m. Isensee was southbound when a deer ran into the roadway and hit her vehicle. The vehicle was moderately damaged and was driven from the scene.

On Wednesday:

• Matthew L. Stamm, 26, Dakota, Ill., was uninjured in a deer vs. vehicle accident that occurred on County G south of Shanghi Road, Town of Spring Grove, at 4:27 a.m. Stamm was southbound on County G when a deer ran into the roadway and hit his vehicle. The vehicle sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene. Stamm was cited for driving without insurance.

• Marley D. Malkow, 17, Monticello, sustained an injury but denied treatment after a one-vehicle rollover crash in the W3100 block of Towns Road, Town of Sylvester, at 9:43 a.m. Malkow was eastbound when he lost control of the vehicle and went into the ditch causing the vehicle to roll over, landing on its wheels. The vehicle was moderately damaged and driven from the scene.

• Steven A. Demler, 57, Blanchardville, was uninjured in a one-vehicle rollover accident on Sunnyside Road south of Buckeye Road, Town of York, at 10:58 a.m. Demler was southbound on Sunnyside Road when he lost control of his vehicle on the icy roadway and spun around before entering the east ditch. The vehicle then rolled over landing on the driver's side. The vehicle was moderately damaged and towed from the scene.

• Carter Scott Adkins, 17, Monroe, was uninjured in a deer vs. vehicle crash that occurred in the N900 block of Five Corner Road, Town of Jefferson, at 5:58 p.m. Adkins was northbound when a deer ran into the roadway and hit his vehicle. The vehicle was severely damaged and was towed from the scene.

• Sue A. Torkelson, 62, Monticello, and her passengers were uninjured in a deer vs. vehicle crash that occurred in the N4300 block of County N, Monroe Township, at 7:16 p.m. Adkins was northbound when a deer ran into the roadway and hit his vehicle. The vehicle was moderately damaged and was driven from the scene.

• Laura G. Brown, 24, Monroe, and her passenger were uninjured in a deer vs. vehicle accident that occurred on County J and Vogel Road, Town of Monroe, at 10:55 p.m. Brown was southbound on County J when a deer ran into the roadway and hit her vehicle. The vehicle was moderately damaged and was driven from the scene.

On Thursday:

• Kaylee Connelly, 26, Yuma, Ariz., was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash on Abely Road near Sunset Hills Lane, Town of Monroe, at 8:39 a.m. Connelly was southbound on Abely Road when she lost control of her vehicle and entered the east ditch and hit a large rock and then the culvert before coming to rest. The vehicle was severely damaged and was towed from the scene.

• Paul O. Brockert, 51, Belleville, was uninjured in a deer vs. vehicle accident that occurred on Wisconsin 92 north of Dohm Drive, Town of Exeter, at 11:47 a.m. Brockert was northbound on Wis. 92 when a deer ran into the roadway and hit his vehicle. The vehicle was moderately damaged and was driven from the scene.

• Jeffrey R. Pryce, 57, Albany, was uninjured in a deer vs. vehicle crash that occurred in the N7500 block of County E, Town of Brooklyn, at 5:49 p.m. Pryce was northbound when a deer ran into the roadway and hit his vehicle. The vehicle sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Wednesday:

• No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident on Wis. 11, Gratiot Township, at 3:25 p.m. Rodney Reed, 47, South Wayne, was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Alyse Metz, 16, Gratiot, as Reed was turning onto Komprood Road from the westbound lane on Wisconsin 11, Gratiot Township. Reed's vehicle was moderately damaged and Metz's vehicle was totaled and was towed from the scene. Gratiot Fire Department assisted at the scene.

• Connie Thorson, 52, Argyle, reported hitting a deer with her vehicle on County M, Wiota Township, at 5:23 p.m.

• Leo Gallagher, 42, Shullsburg, reported hitting a deer with his vehicle on County U, Shullsburg Township, at 5:45 p.m.
