Monroe Police

MONROE - No one was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 8:30 a.m. at 6th Street and 17th Avenue. Police report a vehicle driven by Dick L. Yaun, 58, Monroe, collided with a vehicle driven by Wayne F. Sweeney, 58, Browntown. Yaun was cited for unsafe backing.

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - One person was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 12:30 p.m. Thursday in the N6700 block of County J in Adams township. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Larry A. Hakes, 54, Darlington, left the road, hit an embankment and overturned. Hakes was injured and transported to the hospital by Argyle Emergency Medical Services. The vehicle received moderate damage.

• No one was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 1:45 p.m. Thursday on County W by County CC in Exeter township. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Louis M. Cassis, 39, Monroe, swerved to avoid a dog in the road, went into a ditch and hit a pole. The vehicle received moderate damage.

• One person was injured in a vehicle fire at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the W4900 block of Greenbush Road. Deputies report a truck driven by Leland G. Hartwig, 89, Monroe, had remnants of burning rubbish in the truck bed. The rubbish re-ignited and eventually engulfed the entire vehicle. Leland sustained injuries. The vehicle received extensive damage and was towed.

• A vehicle driven by Calvin W. Schaver, 64, Brodhead, collided with a deer at about 8:30 a.m. Thursday on Wisconsin 81 west of Trotter Road in Adams township. The vehicle received minor damage.

• A vehicle driven by Glenene G. Hardel, 55, Monroe, collided with a deer at about 9:30 a.m. Thursday on Wis. 69 near Cold Springs Road. The vehicle received moderate damage.

• A vehicle driven by Philip D. Everson, 54, Monroe, collided with a deer at about 5 p.m. Thursday in the N.7500 block of Wis. 69 in New Glarus township. The vehicle received extensive damage and was towed.

• A vehicle driven by Linda F. France, 64, New Glarus, collided with a deer at about 9 p.m. Thursday in the N.8800 block of County O in New Glarus township. The vehicle received moderate damage.

• A vehicle driven by Lonnie L. Krebs, 48, Blanchardville, collided with a deer at about 9:15 p.m. Thursday in the W.8500 block of Wis. 69 in York township. The vehicle received minor damage.

DARLINGTON - A vehicle driven by John Klinzing, 52, Monona, collided with a deer at about 6:45 p.m. Thursday on U.S. Highway 151 in Kendall township. The vehicle was towed.

• A vehicle driven by Timothy Lancaster, 41, Blanchardville, collided with a deer at about 10:15 p.m. Thursday on County F in Fayette township.

• A vehicle driven by Tylor Mau, 18, Cuba City, collided with a deer at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday on County H in Benton township.

• A vehicle driven by Robert Noble, 45, Gratiot, collided with a deer at about 11:30 p.m. on Wis. 11 in Gratiot township.
