New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - Police responded to a one-car crash in the 600 block of Wisconsin 69 at 9:28 a.m. Monday, April 29. No injuries were reported and no further details were provided by police.

• No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident in the covered ATM drive-through lane at Bank of New Glarus, 1101 Wis. 69, at 6:29 p.m. Saturday, May 4. Chad W. Sweet, 41, New Glarus, was driving a 2012 Ford F250. The equipment in the back of the truck exceeded the height of the covered lane, causing damage to the bank sign.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Robin L. Jerdee, 28, Browntown, reported no injuries from a one-vehicle accident at 12:15 a.m. Friday, May 3, on County M north of Zimmerman Road in Cadiz Township. She told deputies she was southbound when a deer ran into the road and she swerved to miss it, instead colliding with the end of a guard rail. The vehicle was severely damaged and towed.

• No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle collision at 3:17 p.m. Friday, May 3, in the W4600 block of Middle Juda Road in Exeter Township. Barbara L. Gerber, 50, Monroe, had just turned eastbound out of a driveway when she saw a westbound vehicle that had just crested the hill start to pass another westbound vehicle. She drove into the ditch to try to avoid a collision. The passing driver, Patrick J. Bergum, 17, Monroe, then tried to brake and swerve but could not stop in time due to the wet road and grass. The vehicles collided in the ditch. The vehicles were moderately damaged and driven from the scene.

• Jo Ann L. Tourdot, 56, Belleville, reported no injuries from a deer vs. vehicle collision at 3:34 p.m. Saturday, May 4, in the N7300 block of Wis. 69 in Washington Township. The moderately damaged vehicle was driven from the scene.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Charles M. Frye, 62, Reedsburg, reported no injuries from a one-vehicle accident on Wis. 11 in Wayne Township at 9:40 a.m. Friday, May 3. He was driving a semi eastbound when the tire, rim and hub assembly fell off the front axle on the trailer. The axle crossed the westbound lane of traffic and hit an outdoor wood stove. The impact forced the wood stove into the shed next to it. Frye drove his semi from the scene.

• Teresa A. Miller, 28, Rockford, reported at 8:59 p.m. Friday, May 3, that she hit a deer on Wis. 78 in Gratiot Township.

• Phillip M. Monson, 25, Jefferson, reported no injuries at 6:57 p.m. Sunday, May 5, after he hit a deer on Wis. 78 in Wiota Township. The vehicle was driven from the scene.
