Traffic Accidents: May 2, 2008

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - One person was injured in a one-vehicle accident around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday on Wisconsin 69 south of Franklin Road. Carol E. Strote, 64, Freeport, was traveling southbound and attempted to pass two vehicles. One of the vehicles was making a left turn and Strote swerved to avoid collision. Strote's vehicle went into the east ditch and struck the embankment. Strote received minor injuries but refused medical treatment. The vehicle received moderate damage and was towed from the scene. Strote was cited for operating a vehicle without a valid driver's license. Strote was released pending court.

• A vehicle driven by Beverly S. Hanson, 56, Monroe, hit a deer around 9 p.m. Wednesday in the N3400 block of Monroe-Sylvester Road. The vehicle received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - No one was injured when the front passenger tire blew out on the southbound vehicle of Larry D. Simmons, 58, Cuba City, around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday on South Galena Road in Elm Grove township, causing him to lose control and coming to rest in the northbound ditch. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
