Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Feb. 28:

• No injuries were reported during a two-vehicle crash at 7:31 a.m. on the Argyle Interchange, N3100 Wis. 81 in Monroe. Heather A. Hayden, 40, Monroe, was northbound in the right lane and Ryan R. Englebrecht, 49, Freeport, was also northbound in the left lane. Hayden moved into the left lane and struck Engelbrecht's vehicle. Engelbrecht reported he was uninjured. Engelbrecht's vehicle sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene. Hayden's vehicle was towed from the scene due to disabling damage to a tire. Hayden was cited for deviation from designated lane and was released pending court.

• Injuries were reported during a one-vehicle crash at 11:28 p.m. in the N1600 block of County G in the Town of Spring Grove. Benito Aguilar Paredes, 26, Brodhead, was northbound on County G when his vehicle crossed the center line and entered the ditch where he struck a culvert. The vehicle then went airborne for a distance and struck a tree, which resulted in his vehicle overturning. Aguilar Paredes was trapped in the vehicle and was extricated by Brodhead Fire Department. Seat belt usage was unknown. Aguilar Paredes was transported by EMS to Janesville Mercy. Aguilar Paredes was cited for operating left of center and failure to keep vehicle under control and was released pending court. The vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed. Brodhead Police, Brodhead Fire and Brodhead EMS also responded.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Feb. 28:

• No injuries were reported during a two-vehicle accident at 1:26 p.m. on Wells Street in Darlington. Carrol T. Jacobson, 84, Darlington, was backing out of a parking stall when he struck a vehicle driven by Lawrence D. Wedig, 69, Darlington. Jacobson's 2000 Ford and Wedig's 2017 Dodge sustained minor damage and were driven from the scene.

• No injuries were reported when Heather M. Grate, 40, Shullsburg, struck a deer at 7:05 p.m. on County I, New Diggings Township. Grate's 2016 Jeep sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.
