Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On March 10:

♦ No injuries were reported during a crash at 10:44 a.m. on Greenbush Road at Balls Mill Road in Sylvester Township. Danielle R. Johnson, 47, Monroe, failed to yield the right-of-way from a stop sign. Johnson's vehicle sustained very minor damage and was driven from the scene. A second vehicle driven by Richard S. Moyer, 74, Brodhead, was traveling east on Greenbush Road when the vehicle he was operating was struck by Johnson's vehicle. Moyer's vehicle sustained very minor damage and was driven from the scene. Johnson was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way from a stop sign and she was released pending a court date.

♦ A hit-and-run was reported to deputies at 11:23 a.m. in the N5000 block of Wis. 104 in the Township of Albany. The offending vehicle was located in Albany. Chad L. Phillips, 35, Evansville, was traveling southbound on Wis. 104 when the vehicle he was operating was struck by a second vehicle that failed to stop at the stop at the intersection of County B. That vehicle made a very wide right hand turn and struck his trailer. He reported no injuries. Phillips' vehicle sustained no damage, however his trailer sustained minor damage to the left rear tire. He was able to drive his vehicle and the trailer from the scene. The second vehicle was traveling westbound on County B and failed to stop at the stop sign and the driver was identified at Kurt W. Klinger, 51, Evansville. He reported no injuries in the crash. Klinger was arrested for first offense operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, Prohibited Alcohol Concentration, failure to stop at a stop sign, open intoxicants by a driver, and hit-and-run. He was released to a responsible person pending a court date. Klinger's vehicle sustained minor damage and was left at a location in Albany.

♦ A property crash was reported at 5:54 p.m. in the W6300 block of West 8th Street in Monroe Township. Andrea L. Wilson, 23, DeForest, was westbound on West 8th Street when she went into the ditch where she collided with a chain link fence. Wilson was not injured and was wearing a seatbelt. The car sustained severe damage was towed. Wilson was arrested by Monroe Police for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicants (first offense), open intoxicants in a motor vehicle and for prohibited alcohol level. She was released to a responsible person. Monroe Township and the Highway shop were advised of the damaged fence.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On March 8:

♦ No injuries were reported during a one-vehicle crash at 1:33 p.m. on County F in Fayette Township.

♦ No injuries were reported when Carisa R. Baker, 36, Mineral Point, struck a deer at 8:01 p.m. on County G, Kendall Township. Baker's 2008 Buick Enclave sustained severe damage and was towed.

On March 9:

♦ No injuries were reported during a tractor accident at 12:41 p.m. on Cub Hollow Road in Darlington Township. Lucas L. Stietz, 29, Gratiot, was traveling on Cub Hollow Road driving a tractor owned by Joseph L. Wedig, 57, Darlington. Due to mechanical problems the tractor exited the roadway striking a fence.

♦ No injuries were reported when David A. Calvert, 57, Mineral Point, struck a deer at 6:57 p.m. on Wis. 23, Willow Springs Township. Calvert's 2016 Ford sustained minor damage.

On March 11:

♦ No injuries were reported when Dirk J. Garvey, 55, Belmont, struck a deer at 2:49 p.m. on U.S. 151, Belmont Township. Garvey's 2007 Chevrolet sustained minor damage.
