Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Sunday:

• Non-life-threatening injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident that occurred on Wisconsin 69 at Streiff Lane, Town of New Glarus. Genaro A. Cruz Guifarro, 19, Madison, was attempting to turn around his pick-up truck and make a left turn onto Wis. 69. His truck hit a northbound car driven by Margie A. Noreik, 27, Monticello. Noreik was transported via New Glarus EMS to Monroe Clinic Hospital for treatment of her injuries. Cruz and his four passengers were not injured in the crash. Cruz was cited at 1:47 p.m. for failure to yield while making a left turn and driving without insurance. Cruz was released pending court. The crash remains under investigation and additional charges are pending. Both vehicles were severely damaged and towed from the scene.

• A passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries in a deer vs. vehicle accident in the W5200 block of Wisconsin 11, Town of Monroe. Alec E. Fruin, 15, Beloit was eastbound when a deer ran into the roadway and hit his vehicle. A passenger, Scott A. Weidner, 46, Beloit, received injuries when the deer shattered the front passenger window and windshield. Weidner declined medical attention. The car was severely damaged and towed from the scene.

• Rebecca L. Monte, 38, Juda, was uninjured in a deer vs. car crash that occurred in the W700 block of Wisconsin 59, Town of Albany, at 10:38 p.m. Monte was westbound when a deer ran into the roadway and hit her car. The car was moderately damaged and driven from the scene.

On Tuesday:

• No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident in a construction zone in the N1600 block of Steiner Road, Town of Clarno, at 8:13 a.m. Two Green County Highway Department dump trucks collided, causing minor damage. Jeremy D. Hagen, 42, Monroe, was backing a dump truck on Steiner Road and hit the front of a second dump truck that was stopped in the roadway and being driven by Michael T. Bartels, 40, Monroe. The truck Hagen was driving sustained no damage and the truck Bartels was driving was moderately damaged to the fender and bumper. Both trucks were driven from the scene.

• Delores A. Buss, 74, Davis, Ill., was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash on County G at Shanghai Road, Town of Spring Grove, at 10:43 a.m. Buss was northbound on County G when she lost control of the vehicle, drove into the gravel shoulder and hit an embankment on the south edge of Shanghai Road. The vehicle continued across the road and came to rest in a residential yard. The vehicle was severely damaged and towed from the scene.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Friday:

• Rural Medical Ambulance reported hitting a deer at 12:30 a.m. on County E, Darlington Township.

On Saturday:

• Joyce E. Stoddard, 72, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 8:16 a.m. on Wisconsin 23, Willow Springs Township.

• Clarey L. Knellwolf, 24, Darlington, reported hitting a deer on County F, Darlington Township, at 9:58 p.m.

On Monday:

• David E. Wittenmeyer, 31, Freeport, sustained non-life-threatening injuries in a one-vehicle rollover accident on Wisconsin 81, Seymour Township at 7:10 p.m. Wittenmeyer was eastbound when he reportedly fell asleep and his truck went across the road into the opposite ditch. The truck hit a driveway culvert causing it to become airborne and roll over before coming to rest on its wheels. Wittenmeyer was transported to Lafayette County Memorial Hospital via Rural Medical Ambulance for treatment of his injuries. Wittenmeyer's truck was moderately damaged and towed from the scene. Darlington Fire Department also assisted at the crash.



Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD - Marc F. Dierickx, 27, Monroe, was cited at 12:38 a.m. Sunday, July 20, for hit-and-run of an unattended vehicle, failure to notify police of an accident, reckless driving, unsafe lane deviation, open intoxicants in a vehicle, inattentive driving and no proof of insurance. Dierickx has an initial appearance in Green County Circuit Court set for Sept. 15.
