MONROE POLICE
MONROE - On Tuesday:
Two people were injured at 12:37 p.m. after a two-vehicle collision in the 400 block of 8th Street. Richard G. Chapko, 59, Monroe, struck a vehicle driven by a 73-year-old Brodhead man. Two occupants of the vehicles reported minor injuries but declined medical treatment. Chapko was cited for failure to yield the right of way when making a left turn. Both vehicles sustained severe damage and were towed from the scene.
No injuries were reported at 6:09 p.m. after Shawn S. Francis, 23, Monroe, struck a vehicle driven by a 63-year-old Monticello man at the intersection of Wisconsin 69 and 8th Street. Francis was cited for making an improper right turn. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage.

MONROE - No injuries were reported at 8:47 a.m. Tuesday after Madison Rose Katzenberger, 16, Monroe, swerved off the road to avoid an oncoming vehicle that had crossed the centerline on Wis. 69, Town of Monroe. Katzenberger left the roadway, drove down an embankment, struck a line of trees and entered a ditch. The erratic vehicle failed to stop and was unidentified. Katzenberger's vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene.
