Traffic Accidents: Jan. 4, 2014

Monroe Police

MONROE - On Thursday, Jan. 2:

• Roger R. Snider, 64, Belleville, was taken to Monroe Clinic by Green County EMS following a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Wis. 69 and 30th Street in Monroe reported at 3:25 p.m. Snider's vehicle hit a vehicle operated by Todd J. Schlicting, 55, Pearl City, Ill., causing Snider's vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a flagpole. No other injuries were reported. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage. Snider was cited for failure to yield right-of-way from a stop sign and was released pending court.

• Linda A. Bushee, 44, New Glarus, was cited for driving too fast for conditions following a two-vehicle accident at Wis. 69 and 8th Street reported at 4:52 p.m. Bushee's vehicle hit a vehicle operated by Rusonda J. Bredeson, 69, Argyle. No injuries were reported and both vehicles sustained moderate damages.

• Lance T. McGuire, 29, Darlington, was cited for driving too fast for conditions following a two-vehicle accident at Wis. 69 and 8th Street reported at 5:17 p.m. McGuire's vehicle hit a vehicle operated by Cheryle E. Blaire, 40, Monroe. No injuries were reported and both vehicles sustained minor damages.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Thursday, Jan. 2:

• Billy L. Ellsworth, 28, Brodhead, was cited for criminal operating after revocation, failure to maintain control and no insurance following a two-vehicle accident at 6:10 a.m. on County S at Wis. 11/81 in Jefferson Township. Ellsworth was traveling southbound when he lost traction, failed to stop and rear-ended a southbound vehicle driven by Robert L. Wunschel, 73, Juda. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and were driven from the scene. Ellsworth was released pending court.

• Michelle A. Stauffacher, 47, Albany, was uninjured following a deer vs. vehicle crash in the N8700 block of Sandy Hook Road in Brooklyn Township reported at 5:34 p.m. Stauffacher was northbound when a deer entered the roadway and hit her vehicle. Stauffacher's passengers were also uninjured. Her vehicle sustained severe front-end damage and was towed from the scene.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - No injuries were reported at 4:20 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2 after a two-vehicle accident on Furnace Hill Road in Willow Springs Township. Eric N. Taylor, 32, Monroe, was driving southbound down a hill and attempting to negotiate a curve when he lost control on the snow-covered roadway. His vehicle slid across the road and hit a vehicle operated by Daniel F. Burbach, 65, Darlington. Burbach's vehicle then slid off the road into a ditch and over an embankment. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and were towed from the scene.
