DARLINGTON - Two people were injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 8:45 p.m. Monday on Wisconsin 11 in the Town of Wayne. Deputies report Brandon L. Coulthard, 19, Gratiot was eastbound when he passed a vehicle, lost control and exited the north side road sideways and struck a tree. Coulthard and Reese R. Guillory, 20, Gratiot, a passenger in the vehicle, sustained injuries and were transported to Monroe Clinic Hospital emergency room. The vehicle received severe damage and was towed from the scene.
- Tina M. Kobbervig, 33, Gratiot, reported striking a deer at about 6:15 a.m. Monday on Wis. 11 in the Town of Gratiot. The vehicle received moderate damage.
- Paul J. Carter, 79, Blanchardville, reported striking a deer at about 11:30 a.m. Monday on Wis. 81 in the Town of Argyle. The vehicle received moderate damage.
- No injuries were reported for a one-vehicle accident at about 8:15 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of 9th Street and 14th Avenue. Police report Robert D. Ray, 64, Ohio, struck a fire hydrant. The vehicle received no damage. Ray was cited for improper right hand turn.
- No injuries were reported in a one-vehicle accident Saturday on County G in the Town of Belmont. Deputies report John T. Davis, 41, Rapid City, had been traveling east and failed to negotiate a curve. His vehicle traveled across the road and into the opposite ditch where it struck a utility pole. Davis left the area prior to the arrival of law enforcement and could not be located. Davis contacted police the following day. The vehicle received minor damage and was towed from the scene. Davis was cited for failure to have control of his vehicle and failure to notify police of an accident.
- A hit-and-run accident Friday evening in South Wayne was reported at about 2 p.m. Sunday. Deputies report a legally parked vehicle owned by Donald Johnson, Browntown, was struck on Galena Street. The vehicle received minor damage. The accident remains under investigation.
- Stephen E. Bussan, 62, Benton, reported striking a deer at about 5:45 p.m. Friday on County W in the Town of New Diggings. The vehicle received moderate damage.
New Glarus Police
NEW GLARUS - No injuries were reported for a one-vehicle accident at about 10:45 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot of the New Glarus Baptist Bible Church, 207 6th Street. Police report Josey L. Scoville, 16, Belleville, was pulling into a parking stall when her vehicle collided with a retaining wall in front of the stall. The vehicle received minor damage.
- Police responded at about 10:15 p.m. Jan. 5 to the Monroe Clinic Hospital for a report of a subject being treated for a cat bite. Police report Matthew T. Schafer, 28, Monroe, was working at Jack Links, Inc., when he and other employees were trying to catch a stray cat. As a result, Schafer was bitten and scratched by the cat, receiving minor injuries to both arms and hands. Schafer was treated and released. The case was referred to the Green County Health Department for the animal bite order.

MONROE - Deputies were dispatched at about 3:45 a.m. Saturday to the N4700 block of Wis. 59, Sylvester Township, for a one-vehicle rollover crash. Upon arrival, deputies found a pickup truck registered to Benjamin W. Mesler, 23, Janesville had entered the west ditch and rolled over approximately four or five times before coming to rest on its side. The driver fled the scene without reporting the crash. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Deputies later followed-up with Mesler, who stated he swerved to miss a deer and lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn. Mesler was cited for failure to notify police of an accident, failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle, failure to notify Department of Motor Vehicles of address change and no insurance. He was released pending court.
- No injuries were reported for a one-vehicle accident at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday on Mt. Hope Road south of Giese Road in Spring Grove Township. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Amanda D. Guethlein, 25, rural Brodhead, was southbound when she failed to negotiate the "S" curve and collided with a guard rail on the east side of the road. The vehicle received very severe Guethlein was cited for inattentive driving and released pending court.
