Monroe Police

MONROE - One person was injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 10 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Wisconsin 69 and 26th Street. Police report a vehicle driven by Kennedy J. Dammen, 17, Evansville, struck a vehicle driven by James J. Murphy Jr., 68, Freeport. One person complained of injuries and was transported by Green County Emergency Medical Services. The vehicles received severe damage and were towed from the scene. Dammen was cited for failing to yield the right of way fro a stop sign.

- No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of 18th Avenue. Police report a vehicle driven by Tyler L. Blumer, 17, Monroe, struck a vehicle driven by Allison R. Carroll, 27, Monroe. The vehicle received moderate damage. Blumer was cited for failing to yield the right of way from a stop sign.

New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - New Glarus Police Department assisted the Green County Sheriff's Department with vehicles in the ditch and motorists stranded in vehicles due to the winter storm on Feb. 1 through Feb. 2 around the New Glarus area.

- No injuries were reported in a one-vehicle accident at about 10:15 p.m. Friday night on 8th Street near 9th Avenue. Police report a vehicle crashed into a snow embankment. Tina M. Byrne, 46, New Glarus, was arrested for one county of driving while under the influence (OWI). Byrne was released pending court.

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - One person was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 5:15 p.m. Saturday on County B near Dill Road in Cadiz Township. Deputies report John C. Williams, 56, Browntown, was westbound when he drove too close to a snow bank, causing the truck to start up the embankment. The truck then overturned, coming to a rest on its top, in the eastbound lane of traffic. Williams was extricated by the Browntown Fire Department and transported by Monroe EMS to the Monroe Clinic Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. The truck received severe damage and was towed from the scene. The Lafayette County Sheriff's Department also assisted at the scene.

- No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at about 6:15 p.m. Friday on Smock Valley Road at Wis. 11 in Monroe Township. Deputies report Jeffrey L. Hartwig, 58, Monroe, was operating a Monroe Township plow truck when he backed into a vehicle operated by Julie K. Beutel, 44, Monroe. Hartwig stated he looked behind him but did not see anyone. The snow plow received no damage. The Beutel vehicle received moderate damage. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.

- No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at about 5:30 a.m. Friday on Wis. 59 west of Edmunds Road in the Town of Albany. Deputies report John L. Macke, 64, rural Albany, was eastbound when he stated a westbound vehicle crossed the center line for no reason, forcing him to the gravel. The snow pulled his vehicle deeper into the ditch where it collided with a fence. The vehicle received moderate front-end damages and was towed from the scene. The crash remains under investigation. The Green County Highway Department assisted at the scene.

- No injuries were reported in a one-vehicle accident at about 5:15 a.m. Sunday on County C in the Town of Adams. Deputies report Deputy Cody Kanable, 25, Monroe, was operating a Green County Patrol Squad and traveling west to check on a vehicle in the ditch with a subject walking along the road. As Kanable approached the intersection of County C and County J, he slid off the roadway on the snow-covered roadway. The squad car received very minor damage and was driven from the scene. Monroe Police investigated the crash.

- No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle rollover accident at about 7:45 a.m. Sunday on Wis. 11 east of County OK. Deputies report William H. Korst, 82, Beloit, was westbound when he lost control of his vehicle on the ice- and snow-covered roadway. The vehicle left the road on the north side and overturned, coming to a rest on its wheels. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

- No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at about 3:45 p.m. Sunday in the W6500 block of Smock Valley Road in the Town of Monroe. Deputies report Randal L. Schulte, 57, South Wayne, was westbound and turning right into a driveway, when he lost control on the snow and ice-covered roadway. The vehicle struck a guardrail on private property. The vehicle received moderate damage. The guardrail received no damage.

- Roy A. Berrey, 57, Monroe, reported at about 8:30 a.m. Sunday, that he collided with a deer on Feb. 5 in the N4300 block of Klondike Road in the Town of Jordan. A self-report form was issued to Berrey.

- Mary L. Neuenschwander, 49, Browntown, reported striking a deer at about 6:45 p.m. Saturday on County B in the Town of Wayne. The vehicle received moderate damage.

- Virgil L. Kingery, 31, Gratiot, reported striking a deer at about 10 p.m. Saturday on Wis. 78 in the Town of Wiota. The vehicle received moderate damage.

n Deputies were called at about 8 a.m. Friday to investigate a report of guardrail struck by an unknown vehicle in the W4000 block of Carter Road in the Town of Jefferson. A suspect model was identified and the crash remains under investigation.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - One person was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 9:30 a.m. Saturday on Spore Road in the Town of Blanchard. Deputies report Charles W. Frutiger, 60, Oregon, was westbound when he met Michael J. Gilbertson, 38, Argyle, eastbound, where one lane was partially blocked by a large snow drift. Frutiger attempted to avoid collision by driving up the snow bank which caused his vehicle to rollover. The Frutiger vehicle did not strike the Gilbertson vehicle. Frutiger was treated by Argyle Ambulance, but refused medical transport. The Frutiger vehicle received moderate damage, and the other vehicle ws unharmed.• No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at about 12:45 p.m. Friday on N. Judgement Street near E High Street in Shullsburg. Deputies report a vehicle driven by TammyJo S. Stanton, 41, Shullsburg, struck a vehicle driven by Dolores J. Edge, 80, Shullsburg. Both vehicle were driven from the scene. Stanton was cited for no vehicle insurance and failure to yield the right of way during a turn.

- No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at about 2:30 p.m. Friday on St. Peters Road in the Town of Elk Grove. Deputies report Debra L. Keicher, 44, Darlington, was west bound when she crested a hill and could not avoid striking a front-end loader operated by Jose Cruz Trejo, 43, Shullsburg, who was attempting to remove a large, deep snowdrift blocking the entire roadway. A passenger in the Keicher vehicle, Hannah A. Keicher, 8, Darlington was also not injured. Both vehicle received moderate damage. The Keicher vehicle was towed from the scene.

- No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at about 11:30 p.m. Friday on Crabtree Corner Road in the Town of Benton. Deputies report Eric L. Kees, 26, Platteville, was backing into the road from a private driveway when Alexxis M. Wilson, 16, Cuba City, crested a hill and could not avoid striking the Kees vehicle. Both vehicle received moderate damage and were driven form the scene. Snow on the roadway and limited visibility caused by high snow banks were contributing factors to the accident.

- Lewis D. Redfearn, 58, Shullsburg, reported striking a legally parked vehicle at about 9:45 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot of a business on Wis. 11 in Shullsburg. Both vehicles received minor damage.

- Sarah L. Lancaster, 32, Darlington, reported striking a deer at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday on Wis. 23 in the Town of Willow Springs. The vehicle received moderate damage.
