Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Feb. 5:

• Minor injuries were reported during a two-vehicle crash at 8:09 a.m. in the N5700 block of Fiedler Road in Albany Township. Garrett R. Hlavachek, 18, Albany, was northbound on Fiedler Road when he lost control of the vehicle he was operating and slid into a southbound vehicle operated by Kasey C. Genthe, 24, Albany. Garrett's vehicle then slid sideways into a power pole on the east side of the road. Genthe reported minor injuries but decline immediate medical attention and was later taken to a hospital by private vehicle. The vehicle Hlavachek was operating was towed due to disabling damage. Genthe's vehicle sustained functional damage but was driven from the scene. Alliant Energy responded as the power pole was broken. Hlavachek received a citation for too fast for conditions.

• Minor injuries were reported after finding a driver who fled the scene of a crash at 8:47 a.m. on Bloom Lane in Monroe Township. Christopher Kummer, 27, Browntown admitted later to police he was driving a vehicle located in the W5600 block of Patterson Road in Monroe Township up against a tree. Police then found Kummer at a hospital who admitted to driving the vehicle. The vehicle sustained functional damage and was impounded. This case is still under investigation and citations are pending.

• No injuries were reported during a vehicle versus traffic sign crash at 4:46 p.m. in the area of County E and Race Road in Decatur Township. Justin M. Carreras, 23, Brodhead, was northbound on County E when he lost control of the car due to the snow -covered road. The car went into the ditch and collided with a speed limit sign post. The vehicle did not sustain any damage and was driven from the scene.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Feb. 5:

• No injuries were reported during a one-vehicle crash at 3:23 p.m. on U.S. 151 in Kendall Township. Dallie N. Davis, 19, Kirksville, Missouri, was traveling northbound on U.S. 151 when she slid off the roadway striking a guardrail due to weather condition. Davis' 2002 Chrysler sustained severe damage and was towed. Mineral Point Fire assisted.



Monroe Police

MONROE - No injuries were reported during a two-vehicle crash at 8:14 a.m. Feb. 5 at 16th Avenue and 15th Street. Brandon D. Broshous, 25, Juda, collided with a vehicle operated by a 39-year-old Monroe woman. Broshous was cited for failure to maintain control of a vehicle and released pending a court appearance.
