MONROE - No injuries were reported during a one-vehicle accident at about 11:44 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5 at the intersection of County C and County X in the Town of Brooklyn. A vehicle driven by Patrick L. Whalen, 60, Darlington, was negotiating a curve when he lost control due to slippery roads. Whalen left the road and hit several road signs before coming to rest in the ditch line. Whalen's vehicle received minor damage, was towed out of the ditch and was then driven from the scene.
- Deputies, along with the Monroe Fire Department, Green County EMS and the Wisconsin State Patrol, responded to a two-vehicle crash at 4:27 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5 in the N1400 block of Wisconsin 69 in the Town of Clarno. A car driven by Natlia A. Klimatova, 47, Orangeville, was traveling southbound on Wis. 69 when she began to slow for the car in front of her, who was also slowing down. Klimatova lost control due to the road conditions and entered the northbound lane of Wis. 69. A northbound vehicle, driven by Mary L. Wise, 41, Freeport, was unable to avoid being hit by Klimatova. Klimatova sideswiped Wise's vehicle, causing severe damage to both vehicles. Klimatova and a passenger were not injured. Wise and passengers in her vehicle were transported to Monroe Clinic emergency room for non-life-threatening injuries. Both vehicles were towed from the scene and Klimatova was cited for failing to maintain control a motor vehicle.

Hilliard, 51, Monticello, was driving northbound on County N when he crossed the centerline and began to pull next to his mailbox. A southbound vehicle, driven by Andrew P. Bohlman, 21, Argyle, observed Hilliard cross the center line and swerved to avoid being hit and saw another northbound vehicle. Bohlman swerved back towards his lane of travel and entered the ditch line, hitting the ditch and a snow bank. Hilliard assisted Bohlman in pulling his vehicle out of the ditch. The vehicle had minor damage and was driven from the scene.
