New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - One person was injured in a roll-over accident at about 8:15 a.m. Friday on Wisconsin 39 near Hay Hallow Road. Police report Dale R. Meyer, 52, Mineral Point lost control of his vehicle on a curve at Buckeye Road, due to icy road conditions. The vehicle slid across the roadway and struck an embankment, causing it to overturn, coming to rest against a fence. Meyer sustained minor injures and declined medical attention at the scene. The vehicle received extensive damage. The investigation was turned over to Green County Sheriff's Department upon their arrival.

• Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident on 7th Avenue and 2nd Street, which was reported at about 8 a.m. Dec. 14. Police report a two-door Honda, owned by Daniel A. Nommensen, New Glarus, was parked, unattended, when an unknown person, driving what is believed to be a full-sized, white Chrysler slid into the Honda and fled the scene. Ice-covered roads contributed to the accident. Anyone with information is asked to contact the New Glarus Police at 527-1245.

• A deer collided with a van driven by Holly J. Carnes, 46, Belleville, at about 7:45 a.m. Dec. 15 on Wisconsin 69 near County H inside the village limits. The vehicle received minor damage.

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - One person was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 8:15 p.m. Friday on Wis. 39 near Hay Hollow Road in the Town of York. Deputies report Dale R. Meyer, 53, Mineral Point, was eastbound on a slippery roadway and lost control of his vehicle while negotiating a curve. The vehicle left the road on the north side, struck an embankment, overturned and struck a fence. Meyer sustained injuries but declined medical attention. The vehicle received severe damage and was towed from the scene.

• No one was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 2:15 a.m. Saturday in the N7700 block of County CC in the Town of Exeter. Deputies report a vehicle was southbound on County CC south of Exeter Crossing Road when the driver struck two mailboxes before coming to a stop in the snowbank. The driver fled the scene. The vehicle received moderate damage. Investigation resulted in the owner of the vehicle, Darrin D. Holcomb, 29, Monticello, being cited for vehicle owner liability for failure to stop at scene of an accident. Holcomb was released pending court.

• A vehicle driven by Kathleen M. King, 56, Monroe, collided with a deer at about 5:30 p.m. Friday on Wis. 69 at County H in the Town of New Glarus. The vehicle received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

• A vehicle driven by Dawn K. Johnson, 53, New Glarus, collided with a deer at about 5:15 p.m. Saturday in the N7300 block of Wis. 69 in the Town of Washington. The vehicle received moderate damage.
