MONROE - No injuries were reported following a one-vehicle accident at 12:09 a.m. Tuesday on Wisconsin 11, east of Smock Valley Road, in the Town of Monroe. Reports indicate that a vehicle was westbound on Wis. 11 when it entered the median, where the driver lost control.
The vehicle slid across the westbound lanes, traveled through a fence and came to rest on West 7th Street. The driver fled the scene, leaving behind a trail of debris and a license plate. The driver was later identified as Jennifer L. Bartels, 29, Monroe. The vehicle had moderate damages. Bartels reported no injuries to her or her 2-year-old son, who she said was secured in a child safety restraint.
Citations are pending and the crash remains under investigation.
