MONROE - No one was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday on Wisconsin 78 north of Sunnyside Road in York township. Deputies report a semi tractor hauling an oversized load which was driven by Douglas W. Sox, 64, Medicine City, Alberta, Canada, hit a telephone cable across the road. The collision with the cable caused two telephone poles to break and damage a transformer. The semi, owned by Mullen Trucking of Alberta, Canada, received minor damage. Alliant Energy responded to repair the damage to the wires. Wis. 78 was closed to one lane of traffic for four hours while utility repairs were made.
