Terry L. Knouse, 72, of Winnebago, IL, died on April 17, 2018 in Rockford following an illness. Terry was born on February 8, 1946 in Monroe, WI, son of Benjamin and Marie (Kraus) Knouse. He was a graduate of Monroe High School, class of 1965. Terry was a Sgt. in the United States Army, serving in the 53rd Signal Battalion, Second Field Force, during the Vietnam War from 1967-1968. He was united in marriage to Patricia Girard on June 24, 1967 in Monroe, WI. He retired from Mueller Pinehurst Dairy of Rockford where he was employed as a Production Manager. Terry enjoyed fishing, downhill skiing, and was a member of the Rockford Ski Broncs Water Ski Show Team. Terry is and will always be his family's hero.

He is survived by his wife, Pat of Winnebago; children, Jason (Robin Ulrey) Knouse of Byron, IL Jennifer (Damen) Leavy of Machesney Park, IL; grandchildren, Devin Carter, Jaidyn Leavy, Dominique Leavy, Maddisyn Knouse, Logan Knouse; siblings; Gary (Rhonda) Knouse of Rockford, Pam Miller of FL, Brent (Linda) Knouse of Chicago; a niece, Kathy Knouse; a nephew, Terry Miller; and special dog, Lexie. He was preceded in death by his parents. Terry's family is grateful to Northern Illinois Hospice for the loving care the staff provided.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at 3:00 p.m., at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 1329 31st. Avenue, Monroe. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Monroe American Legion Post #84, 1627 12th Avenue. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Terry's name.
