Sun Bun Ritschard, age 73 of Madison, died on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at her home following a courageous battle with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Sun Bun was born June 27, 1940 in Seoul, Korea. She married Royal Ritschard on June 28, 1961 in Seoul. She and her husband farmed in the Twin Grove and Mt. Horeb areas for many years and in retirement Sun Bun did janitorial work for her daughter and son-in-law. She enjoyed playing her organ, dancing, singing karaoke with her daughters, and watching her husband bowl.
She is survived by her seven children, Tony (Jason) Ritschard of Madison, Todd Ritschard of Phoenix, AZ, Tracy (Lawrence) Schmock of Madison, Tricia Ritschard of Madison, Tina (Laird) McLean of Minneapolis, MN, Tim (Dawn) Ritschard of Sun Prairie and Tara (Troy) Ritschard of Monona; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Royal, on October 18, 2012; and a son, Terry Ritschard.
Funeral services will held on Thursday, March 13, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 1329 31st. Ave., Monroe, with Pastor Mary Gafner officiating. Interment will be in Saucerman Cemetery, Cadiz Township, followed by a luncheon at the Monroe Moose Lodge. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:00 pm until the time of service.
