Stella I. Svendsen, age 84 of Browntown, died Thursday, June 9, 2016 at her home. She was born on May 12, 1932, the daughter of Albert and Bessie (Blaisdale) Boss in rural Monroe. She was united in marriage to Don Svendsen on October 21, 1962 in Monroe.

Stella worked at Matrix in Winslow, IL for several years, and she did housekeeping at Greenco. She loved going to the casino as well as collecting knick-knacks.

She is survived by her husband, Don of Browntown; children, Donny (Bonnie) Svendsen, Cynthia Svendsen, Gail Svendsen, Terry (Marie) Svendsen, Lewis Coulthard, Albert (Joyce Voegeli) Strothman, Mickey Strothman, Norma Johnson, Tammy Strothman, and Stelda (Jim) Kosek; several grandchildren as well as many great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her brothers, Delbert (Sally) Boss, Ervin Boss, Victor (Kay) Boss, and Wilbur Boss.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Stanley Strothman and Norman Strothman; and three sisters, Claira Leopold, Lorraine Richards and Delores King.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home, with Pastor John Tabaka officiating. Burial will be in Saucerman Cemetery at a later date. A visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. A memorial fund will be established.
