JANESVILLE - Sandra Lee Sinkule, age 63, of Janesville, died on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at home. She was born in Monroe on Nov. 2, 1946, the daughter of John L. and Helen (Maurer) Weiss. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1964 and Freeport Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She married Steven Solace in 1968 in Browntown, and on May 26, 1989, married Francis "Frank" Sinkule in the United Methodist Church, Monroe. He preceded her in death on Oct. 23, 2008. Sandra had been employed by St. Claire Hospital and Pleasant View Nursing Home in Monroe, and retired from Rock Haven Nursing Home in November of 2009 after 40 years nursing.

She is survived by her 2 children, Lynn Solace of Phoenix, AZ and Tamara Solace of Janesville; 5 stepchildren: Linda Sinkule of Melbourne, FL, Sue (Tom) Mulligan of Scottsdale, AZ, Frank (Peg) Sinkule of Louisville, CO, Lisa (John) Gits of Fitchburg, WI and Diane (Carl Kandiko) Sinkule of Malabar, FL; 6 grandchildren: Austin Hawkins, Tyler and Taylor Mulligan, Maddison Gits, Alyssa and Dalton Kandiko; sister, Sherry Weiss of Madison; 2 sisters-in-law, Rosemary (Francis) King of Janesville and Rosemary Sinkule of Kenosha; brother-in-law, James (Nancy) Sinkule of Monroe; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; brother, Robert "Bob" Weiss; and brother-in-law, John Sinkule.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2010, at ST. JOHN VIANNEY CATHOLIC CHURCH with Rev. Randy Timmerman officiating. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Lasting Memorials may be made to the Hedburg Public Library or SMILES.
