Sandra Flaherty, age 63, of Rice Lake, WI died Monday, February 25, 2008 at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI.
Sandi was born in Monroe, WI, to William and Ruth (Elmer) Gurske on March 23, 1944. She attended Brodhead High School in Brodhead, WI, graduating in 1962. She worked as bookkeeper and department manager for Scot's Department Store in Janesville, WI, until 1970. Sandi also wrote a column for the Albany Herald newspaper from 1974 to 1977. She married George Flaherty in Brodhead, WI, on December 7, 1968 and the couple lived in the Green County area until 1996 when they moved to Rice Lake, WI. She could then partake in her favorite activity - fishing.
Sandi Flaherty is survived by her husband, George Flaherty of Rice Lake, WI; and a daughter, Shannon Flaherty of Brodhead, WI. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, William and Ruth Gurske.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Appleyard's Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI.
