Ruth R. Olson, age 93 of Monroe, Wisconsin, died Sunday, March 30, 2008 at her home at Garden Apartments. She was born October 10, 1914 at Albany, Wisconsin, the daughter of Bert C. and Zula Mae (Gillette) Pryce and graduated from Albany High School in 1932. Ruth worked at Christopher Grocery Store in Albany for 12 years and The Chocolate Shop in Monroe.
Ruth and Henry W. Olson were married on October 15, 1932 in Rockford, Illinois. Ruth was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe, the Hannah Circle, Golden Agers, and Balls Mills Homemakers.
Surviving are her daughter, Janet (Charles) Gibbert of Show Low, AZ; son, Jerry (Ruth) Olson of Red Wing, MN; grandsons, Jeff (Teresa) Olson of Ellsworth, WI and Greg (Jeanie) Olson of Red Wing, MN; granddaughter, Debbie Olson of Lake Mary, FL; brothers, Woodrow Pryce of Albany and William "Bill" (Marilyn) Pryce of Albany; sister, Pauline Hulburt of Brodhead; 3 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Henry; and brothers, Warren Pryce and Virgil Pryce; and sister, Virginia Zimmerman.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2008 at SHRINER-HAGER-GOHLKE FUNERAL HOME, 1455 Mansion Drive and 18th Avenue in Monroe with Rev. William T. Mike Heath officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Albany.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
