Rosella C. Dahmen age 88 of Monroe died on Monday, February 18, 2013 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born on December 29, 1924 in Cross Plains, Wisconsin, the youngest of 12 children, daughter of John and Margaret (Saeman) Adler. Rosella was a 1942 graduate of Middleton High School. Rosella and John F. Dahmen were married on August 13, 1946 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Middleton.

While raising her family Rosella helped her husband in the cheese factory. She also worked at Swiss Colony, and later became the bookkeeper for the Black Hawk School District for many years. She then worked for Ekum Abstract and Lafayette County Abstract & Title until retiring.

Rose was an avid bowler and enjoyed all area sports events with her husband. She was a long time member of St. John's Catholic Church in South Wayne serving as singer. After moving to Monroe, Rosella was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Monroe.

She is survived by sons, James (Susan) and Thomas (Donna) Dahmen both of Monroe; daughters, Barbara (Steve) Jackson of Blanchardville; Jeanne (James) Ruf of Monroe; sister, Leola Kahl, Middleton; grandchildren: Cory (Marcia) Dahmen, Ryan (Lindsay) Dahmen, Andrea (Greg) Garvens, Kip and Nikki Jackson, Stacy (Curt) Smits, Trisha Ruf, Megan (Joe Olson) Ruf, Brad (Ashley) Smith, Joe and Chris Dahmen, great-grandchildren: Keegan, Kennedy and Drake Dahmen, Nathan Olson, McKayla Smith and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband; John, by 3 days, parents; John and Maggie Adler, brothers; Raymond, Albert, Norbert, Donald, Eugene, Harold, and Ervan, sisters; Sister Dorothy Adler, Bernice Lamberty and Sister Agatha Adler.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, February 22, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor Catholic Church with Fr. Larry Bakke Celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

A visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, 1455 Mansion Dr. and 18th Ave. in Monroe. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established in Rosella's memory.
