Rodney L. Kammerer
Rodney L. Kammerer, age 62 of Juda, died Thursday, August 7, 2008 at U.W. Hospital in Madison following a hard fought illness.
Rodney was born November 25, 1945 in Monroe, the son of Kermit D. and Dorthea (Veek) Kammerer.
He graduated from Monticello High School and attended Madison Vocational School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1963 until 1967. Rod and Anita Gruenenfelder were married on August 23, 1969 in Blanchardville. Rod worked at Thorpe Finance in Monroe until moving to Juda in 1969. From 1969 until 2000 he was employed at the Bank of Juda where he was a Loan Officer and Bank President. Currently he was working as a bookkeeper for D.A. Auto in Dodgeville.
He was a member of St. Victor Catholic Church in Monroe, served on the Juda Fire Department, and was actively involved in the Juda Community Club.
Survivors include three sons, Jeff Kammerer of Shawano, WI, David (Carissa) Kammerer of Juda, and Brian (Erin) Kammerer of Brodhead; seven grandchildren, Macie, Hailey, Quinton, Gavin, Mason, Alexis, and Gretchen Kammerer; a sister, Janet (Harvey) Wolter of Venice, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Margaret Leonard.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August, 12, 2008, at St. Victor Catholic Church in Monroe. Father Michael E. Klarer will officiate with burial to follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery in Juda. A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, August 11, 2008, at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe. Following the funeral a gathering of remembrance will be held at the Juda Community Center. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Rodney's name.
