Robert M. "Bob" Austin age 68 of Monroe, Wisconsin died Friday, August 5, 2011 at Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born January 19, 1943 in Whitehall, WI, Trempealeau County the son of Harry R. and Margaret A. (Paulson) Austin and attended Chippewa Falls High School.
Robert and Joyce E. (Ostendorf) Hill were married on June 30, 1978 in Monroe. Bob worked for Green County Highway Department for over 30 years. He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #754 & Teamsters #579. He enjoyed racing stock cars - retiring in 1971, hunting deer, fishing, bowling, camping, casinos, watching NASCAR, visiting with friends, driving cars for various dealerships, & spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Austin of Monroe, WI; children, Kari (Mike) Young of Loves Park, IL, Kevin Robert (Kelly) Austin of Monroe, WI, Karen (George) Evans of Waunakee, WI, & Keith (Mary-Lyn) Austin of Brodhead, WI; step-children, Diane LaBuwi of Klamath Falls, OR, Kathy (Dan) Benkert of Waunakee, WI, Steve Hill of Madison, WI, Donna (Jim) Beranek of Holmen, WI, & Sue (Steve) Bowman of Onalaska, WI; brothers, Gordon (Carol) Austin of Waukesha, WI & Walter (Diana) Austin of Sun Prairie, WI; 17 Grandchildren; and a Great-Grandson. He was predeceased by his Parents & 2 Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, 1455 Mansion Drive & N. 18th Avenue in Monroe, with Rev. Lowell Stuessy officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home with a Moose Service to follow.
