Robert Frederick Wichser MD, 95, of Venice, FL passed away on March 3, 2018. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Donna Jean Leemhuis Wichser, his son Brian Wichser, 2 step-children Cheryl Frandsen (Roger) and Fred (Janet) Leemhuis, 4 grandchildren Dan (Kristen) Frandsen, Doug (Michelle) Frandsen, Justin (Lane) Leemhuis and Billy (Michelle) Davis and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Wilbert and Elsa Wichser.
Bob was born in Monticello, WI on March 24, 1922. He graduated from Monticello High School and received his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine Degree from the University of Wisconsin. He served as a Lieutenant Jr. Grade in the U.S. Navy during World War II. His professional career was spent practicing internal medicine at the Monroe Clinic, Monroe, WI until his retirement in 1990 to Venice, FL. Bob enjoyed world traveling, playing golf, participating in church activities and spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered as a loving, caring, kind man and will be missed by all whose lives he touched.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Venice Presbyterian Church, 825 The Rialto, Venice, FL with Pastor Chris Romig officiating. Burial will be private at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, FL.
