Richard "Rick" L. Weeden

Richard "Rick" L. Weeden, 57, of Monroe passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 17, 2016. He was born the son of Robert and Louise (Strait) Weeden on January 5, 1959 in Viola, Wisconsin. Rick was united in marriage to Darlene R. Whitehead on June 4, 1977.

Rick started his working career as the shop Foreman at Whitehead Specialties, he went on to manage Bowen Oil of Monroe for many years, and was also the owner of Weeden Rentals. He was a longtime member of the Moose Lodge, Yesteryear Antique Car Club and attended St. John's United Church of Christ of Monroe. Rick was known for always having a project to work on; he enjoyed tinkering with antique cars. He will be remembered most for his gentle, giving nature; always willing to help others with a smile on his face. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene of Monroe; children, Brandi (Robert) Camron, Christina (Kevin) Foley, and Shawn (Kristin) Weeden all of Monroe; grandchildren, Conner, Colin, Addison, Brent, and Brock; sister, Susan (Dave) Elmer of Brooklyn; and brothers, Randy Weeden of Monroe and Rodney (Anita Stoehr) Weeden of Monticello. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Robert and Ronnie Weeden.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016 at St. John's United Church of Christ with Pastor Todd Hackman officiating. Burial will follow services at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016 from 3:00-7:00p.m. at SHRINER-HAGER-GOHLKE Funeral Home with a Moose Service at 7:00p.m.
