Richard A. Wuebben Sr., age 71, of Monroe, died on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at his home. He was born on March 10, 1946 in Sterling, IL; the son of Robert and Elinore (McBride) Wuebben. He was a 1964 graduate of Warren High School.

He served in the U.S. Air Force, where he was stationed in Vietnam, during the Vietnam War.

Richard and Alicia Conn were married on May 26, 1968 in Newton, Iowa; she preceded him in death in 2003; he later met his fiancee, Sandra S. Pieper in 2008.

Richard worked for Kelly Springfield Tires for many years until his retirement.

He was a member of Monroe United Methodist Church, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #754, Apple Canyon Lake Bass Club for over 30 years, and Monroe Booster Club. He was a loyal supporter of Monroe Cheesemaker athletics. Richard was an avid fisherman; enjoyed umpiring softball and baseball games, but his greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his fiancee, Sandra S. Pieper of Monroe, sons, Richard (Shari) Wuebben Jr., Timothy Wuebben, and Christopher (Melissa) Wuebben, grandchildren, Kylie, Kaden, Zachary, Coral, Autumn, Makenzie and Landon; sister, Diane (Mike) Embry, and brother, Bruce Wuebben.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Alicia Wuebben, parents-in-law, Irvin and Shirley Conn; and sister, Linda Katzenberger.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home in Monroe, with Rev. Randy Booth and Rev. Paul Bulgerin officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday, October 16th, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with a Moose Lodge Service at 7:00pm.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Monroe Clinic Hospice.
