FREEPORT - Rebecca A. Aurand, 52, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at the Morgan Memorial Nursing Home in Stockton, IL. She was born on January 16, 1956 in Freeport, IL, the daughter of Robert and Virginia (Goebel) Aurand. Rebecca was a graduate of Blackhawk High School in South Wayne, WI in the class of 1974. For more than 30 years she served people as a waitress for many restaurants in the state of Washington. She enjoyed cooking, and her hobbies included gardening and painting pictures. She had a golden heart and was loved by all. Her main concern was that everyone else was always well taken care of.

Survivors include her sons, Derrick White of Poulsbo, WA, Dillon Pollack and Joshiah Rodderick, both of Washington; her father, Robert Aurand of South Wayne, WI; sister, Jessica (William) Engelke of South Wayne, WI; 3 brothers, Robert Aurand of Lena, IL, David (Susan) Aurand of South Wayne, WI, and Joseph Aurand of South Wayne, WI; a special friend, Bob Chamberlain of Freeport, IL. Many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive her.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia in 1994; her grandparents and a niece, Michele Aurand; and 2 nephews, Jered Strothman and Shane Luther.

Memorial services will be held at 8 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2008 at Martintown Community Church, Martintown, WI. Pastor Kevin Cernek will officiate the service. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday. Cremation rites were accorded and final resting place will take place in Washington. A memorial has been established in her memory.
