Ray Harvey Haddinger, 97, formerly of Albany and Monroe, passed away at The Evansville Manor on February 13, 2016. Ray was born to William James Haddinger and Lydia (Lehnherr) Haddinger on March 31, 1918 on the family farm in Albany Wisconsin. He graduated from Monroe High School.
Ray married Charlene Sherbondy Krostue on November 2, 1940 in Orfordville Wisconsin. He started life as a farmer and was a partner in The Krostue Implement Company for many years. After retiring from Krostue's, he drove dump trucks, helped on the family farms and delivered trucks and picked up drivers for Monroe Trucks. Because of his early retirement, Ray and Charlene spent many winters in Florida which he loved, and they were able to travel all over the United States. He loved playing cards, collecting classic cars, dancing with Charlene, big band music, John Deere tractors and equipment, socializing and exchanging stories with family, friends, and customers.
Ray belonged to the Albany Masonic Lodge #36 for 76 years, and was a member of the Zor Shrine. He bowled on The Krostue Implement Bowling Team for many years, was a member of The Albany Lutheran Church, the Albany Lions Club, the Albany Historical Society, and the Antique Wheelers Car Club.
Ray was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Charlene, his son, James, his brothers, Fred, Harry, Walter, Herman, Willis, and his sister, Alice. He is survived by his daughter, Sharon (Bill) Briggs, Albany; seven grandchildren: Susan Veeder, David Veeder, Rick Veeder, Erin Briggs, Daniel Haddinger, Mark (Maggie) Haddinger, Matthew (Crystal) Haddinger; and five great grandchildren: Benjamin Haddinger, Hallie Haddinger, Owen Haddinger, Julia Haddinger and Greyson Haddinger; a sister-in-law, Faye Freese, and a nephew, Tom Haddinger.
Funeral services will be on Monday, February 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Carl Gant conducting a Masonic Service at the Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, 1455 Mansion Drive and 18th Avenue, Monroe Wisconsin. The visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Albany. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
