MONROE - Randy J. Sargent, 63, of Monroe formerly of Warren, IL and Beloit, WI passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at his home with his family by his side. Randy was born on April 8, 1948 in Monroe, WI to Donald and Margery (McConnell) Sargent. Randy attended Shullsburg High School. He was a Master Technician and started working for Swede Clark and was a mechanic for Bryden Ford in Durand for many years. Randy met Beverly K. Ruch in 1975, and on December 31, 1988 they were married in Beloit, WI. In 2000 he started his own business; Blackhawk Motorsports in South Wayne, WI. Randy was a mechanic all of his life, but was always ready to do another project 24/7. Randy was a NASCAR member and raced under the name RBS Racing in Freeport, Rockford and the Midwest Track's. He also raced in North Carolina and Florida. His hobbies included Antique Tractors and four wheeling. He loved his family and was very caring and giving from the heart to all who knew him. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends, and his two dogs: Shadow and RJ.

He is survived by his wife Beverly of Monroe, children; James A Sargent of Rockford,IL., John M. (Stacy) Cromwell of Beloit, WI., Kimberly D. (Brian) Hartfield of Beloit, WI., Angela T. Cromwell of Ettrick, WI., Timothy D. (Mary) Sargent of So. Beloit, IL., Son In-law Jeff A. Lillge of Dakota, IL., Randy's mother Margery Leone Sargent of Darlington, WI., and a brother Gene G. (Cheryl) Sargent of Warren, IL., and a sister in law Janet Sargent of Warren, IL.

28 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Donald T. Sargent on Feb. 14, 1998, a daughter Shelly L. Lillge on Aug. 3, 2009, a brother Thomas Sargent on Dec. 11, 1993, Mother In-law Gertrude M. Noble on Sept. 12, 2009 and a nephew Jason G. Sargent on Sept. 9, 2005

Services will be held at 2:00 pm. Tuesday, May 3, 2011at the Bartell-Leamon Funeral home, Warren, IL.

Rev. Lyle Babcock will officiate the services.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Monday, May 2, 2011 at the Bartell-Leamon Funeral home, Warren, IL.

Burial will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Warren, IL.

A memorial has been established in his name.
