Prudence F. Gruenberg, 92 formerly of Monroe and Beloit, died Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at Coventry Living Center in Sterling, IL.
She was born on May 16, 1920 in Monroe, Wisconsin, the daughter of Edwin E. and Martha (Boeck) Wolf. She married Wesley Hasse in 1936. She later married Gerhardt Gruenberg in 1946. She had lived in Monroe for about 69 years and approximately 3 years in Beloit, prior to moving to Coventry Living Center in Sterling, IL. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Reformed Church, currently St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe, and Moose Lodge #754 .
Prudence sold Avon, enjoyed playing cards, dancing and cooking. Survivors include her son, Dennis Hasse of Beloit; daughter, Martha J. Lamm of Rock Falls, IL; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gerhardt, son, David Gruenberg; 3 brothers, Quinton, Russell and Kermit Wolf, and sister Lovedy Love.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday February 18, 2013 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Dr., and 18th Ave. with Pastor Alan Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
A visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.
