Monroe Police

MONROE - On Thursday, Oct. 4:

• Ashley J. Lamp, 26, Monroe, was arrested in the 1700 block of 6th Street at 4:40 a.m. on a warrant issued by the Beloit Police Department. She posted the required cash bond and was released.

• The theft of a camera and wallet from a vehicle parked in the Monroe High School lot, 1600 26th St., was reported at 12:22 p.m.

• Police were called at 12:31 p.m. to Subway, 449 8th St., for a report that a male suspect shortchanged the cashier. The suspect used a sleight of hand and confusion techniques to get more change back from the cashier than he actually paid. Police are reviewing surveillance video footage to identify the culprit.

• Keys were reported lost in the 1400 block of Willow Way at 12:41 p.m. To report found, call dispatch at (608) 329-2400.

• Police took a report in the 1500 block of Parkview Drive at 7:48 p.m. that a woman on probation is sending unwanted text messages to another woman. The incident has been referred to the probation agent handling her case.

• A 14-year-old female student at Monroe High School was cited after the mother of a 14-year-old boy called police at 7:59 p.m. to report that the girl "laid hands" on her son, also a student, after the Freshman JV football game. The girl said the boy was calling her names in Spanish; the boy denied it and told police she slapped him.

• An electronic cigarette and loose change was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 800 block of 10th Street at 8:13 p.m.

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Thursday, Oct. 4:

• Robert M. West, 50, Brodhead, was arrested on a charge of bail jumping at 8:41 a.m. within the city limits of Brodhead. He was booked and then released pending court action.

• Nicholas William Lee Nyman, 17, Monroe, was cited for reckless driving after deputies responded at 10:43 p.m. to a one-vehicle crash on a gravel road along the Sugar River Raceway north of County F in the Town of Decatur. Nyman lost control while negotiating a slight curve. The vehicle crashed into a tree head-on, then spun into the Raceway and came to rest in about three feet of water. Nyman was injured and declined treatment. Passengers identified as Cody J. Hardy, 19, and Amber M.A. Hardy, both of Brodhead, sustained injuries and were transported by private vehicle to Monroe Clinic's ER. The vehicle was severely damaged and towed.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Thursday, Oct. 4:

• John L. Bredeson, 55, and Amy M. Westemeier, 44, both of Shullsburg, were arrested on charges of battery and domestic abuse-related disorderly conduct after deputies responded at 7:16 a.m. to a 911 call from a residence on West Estey Street in Shullsburg reporting an ongoing altercation. Both posted bond and were released pending a court appearance.

• Angie M. Thuli, 50, Darlington, was cited for speeding at 9:18 a.m. on Wis. 23 in the Town of Willow Springs.

• Samuel R. Moyer, 16, Barneveld, was cited for a seatbelt violation at 9:55 p.m. on Wis. 78 in the Town of Argyle.

• A report was filed at 10:04 a.m. for a telephone harassment complaint that occurred on East Hill Street in Blanchardville. The complainant was receiving unwanted text messages.

• A deputy discovered several broken lights at Swift Park in Benton. Upon checking the Benton area, a deputy also found vandalism at Village Park on Main Street. The incident remains under investigation.
