Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Robert P. Bennett, 24, rural Monticello, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated (first offense) and jailed on a state probation hold after deputies responded at 12:56 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, to a crash in the W4100 block of County C in the Town of Mount Pleasant. Bennett was eastbound when he lost control on a curve and struck a guardrail. The vehicle then spun around, crossed the road and hit the opposite guardrail before coming to a rest. The vehicle was very severely damaged and towed. The guardrail was also damaged. Bennett reported no injuries. He is also cited for driving with a prohibited alcohol concentration, driving too fast for conditions and without proof of vehicle insurance. Monticello police assisted at the scene.

• Richard E. Hartwig, 49, Monroe, was arrested on charges of battery, disorderly conduct and intimidation of a victim after deputies investigated at 12:16 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, a domestic abuse incident that had occurred at a residence in the Town of Monroe. Hartwig was jailed.

• Robert R. Kayhart, 38, Monroe, was arrested at 4:21 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, on a warrant issued by the Taylor County Sheriff's Department for failure to pay child support. He was jailed pending bond or transport to Taylor County.

• Andy J. Markham, 36, Juda, was cited for driving with a suspended license (second offense) after deputies stopped a vehicle for failure to display registration at 5:50 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, on Wisconsin 11 at County GG in the Town of Spring Grove.

• Timothy S. Miller, 26, Juda, was cited for driving with a revoked license, non-registration of a vehicle and driving without vehicle insurance after deputies at 9:38 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, investigated an accident involving his vehicle. Miller reportedly damaged his vehicle after having driven it home the prior evening in Juda.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Thursday, Oct. 18:

• A reckless driving incident that occurred in Benton the previous evening was reported at 8:10 a.m. A juvenile told school personnel he had been hit by a vehicle while riding a bicycle.

• Residents on Apple Grove Church Road in the Town of Argyle reported a burglary at 5:10 p.m., after returning home to discover the residence had been burglarized.

Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD - Julie A. Hays, 43, Oregon, was arrested in the 600 block of 1st Street at 10:51 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, on a warrant issued by Rock County Circuit Court. Cash bond was posted, and she was released.

• Kade A. Bevars, 29, Janesville, was arrested Friday, Oct. 19, on a warrant issued by Brodhead Municipal Court. He was released on a recognizance bond with a court date.

• Amberlynn J. Johnson, 36, Brodhead, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign at 2:54 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, in the 1200 block of West 2nd Avenue.
