Monroe Police

MONROE - On Tuesday, Oct. 15:

• Unauthorized use of a personal debit card was reported at 1:36 p.m. on Wisconsin 69 at 8th Street. Police have leads.

• A bicycle was found near Orchid International in the 300 block of 21st Street and brought at 2:23 p.m. to the police station, where it can be claimed.

• Police responded at 2:42 p.m. to the 1000 block of 4th Avenue West for a 911 caller reporting a dispute between tenants over parking in an apartment complex lot.

• A bracelet found at 5:23 p.m. in the 1000 block of 17th Avenue can be claimed at the police station.

• A 13-year-old boy was reported at 8:19 p.m. for running away from his home in the 1300 block of 16th Avenue. He later returned.

On Wednesday, Oct. 16:

• Police responded to a 911 call traced to Monroe Manor, 516 26th Ave. It was a misdial.

• Police responded to a 911 call traced to the 700 block of 8th Avenue. It was a misdial.

• An envelope containing a large amount of cash was reported found at 7:11 p.m. in the parking lot of Shopko, 405 W. 8th St. It can be identified and claimed at the police station.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - James Steven Copus, 20, Brooklyn, was cited for possessing marijuana, 25 grams or less, and possessing drug paraphernalia after deputies stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation on Rutland Avenue at Church Street in Brooklyn at 12:04 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16. The K-9 team assisted in the stop.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Wednesday, Oct. 16:

• A deputy recovered a found bicycle at 1:29 p.m. on County E in Darlington Township.

• David M. Yuschak, 34, Cuba City, was transported at 4 p.m. from the Grant County Jail to the Lafayette County Jail on a warrant issued by Lafayette County.

• Taylor C. Berg, 18, Mineral Point, was cited for failure to have control of a motor vehicle after a one-vehicle accident at 10:55 p.m. on U.S. 151 in Kendall Township. She was northbound when she lost control and veered toward the east side of the road, then overcorrected and traveled through the grass median, crossed the southbound lanes and struck a ditch. One person sustained minor injuries in the accident. Berg's 2004 Chevrolet Malibu was moderately damaged and towed. Assisting at the scene were Mineral Point Ambulance, the Mineral Point Fire Department and the Iowa County Sheriff's Department.
