Albany Police

ALBANY - Stanley Lyle Schmid, 59, Albany, was arrested on a charge of felony bail jumping Saturday, Oct. 12. His cash bond is set at $100 and his signature bond at $1,900. Conditions of his bond include no drinking. His preliminary hearing is Oct. 23.



Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD - Troy E. Peterson, 44, Brodhead, was arrested for driving without a license in the 1900 block of West 2nd Avenue at 3:36 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6.

• Homer R. Barefield, 57, Capron, Ill., was cited for speeding in the 600 block of 1st Street at 6:37 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6.

• David A. Scofield, Sr., 61, Brodhead, was cited for junk vehicles and causing a public nuisance in the 500 block of 1st Center Avenue at 3:58 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8.

• Cesario Santiago-Eslava, 34, Brodhead, was cited for driving with a revoked license and for failing to yield when emerging from a private driveway at 9:33 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, in the 2500 block of 1st Center Avenue.

• Jennifer A. Demrow, 35, Brodhead, was cited for failing to stop for a school bus in the 800 block of East 2nd Avenue at 7:07 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10.

• Amanda R. Sauri, 18, Brodhead, was cited for driving with a revoked license, hit-and-run on property, unreasonable and imprudent speeding and failure to notify police of an accident at 12:06 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, in the 2300 block of East 3rd Avenue.



New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - Benjamin T. Kalal, 25, Lombard, Ill., was cited for speeding in the 1100 block of Wisconsin 11 at 11:34 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7.

• Police assisted a citizen with retrieving property from a residence in the 300 block of Elmer Road at 4:20 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7.

• Police were dispatched to a burglar alarm at a business in the 600 block of Wis. 69 at 6:45 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7. The cleaning crew had accidentally set it off.

• Marchello D. Pinex, 21, Sun Prairie, was cited for a suspended vehicle registration and for driving without a valid license or vehicle insurance after police stopped him on Wis. 69 at 11th Avenue for a defective headlight and taillight at 6:16 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9.

• A phone scam was reported at 9:39 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10. A person reported receiving a call from Dean Healthy Living in regards to a survey on insurance. The caller tried unsuccessfully to get personal information from the person. This was later determined to be a fraudulent attempt to gain identity info. The real company is aware of the issue.

• Denarius King, 35, New Glarus, was cited for disorderly conduct after police responded to a report of a disturbance in the 400 block of 6th Avenue at 4:19 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11.

• Tara L. Hunt, 51, Verona, was cited for driving with a revoked license and no vehicle insurance, failing to install an ignition-interlock device and having no muffler at 6:40 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, on 6th Avenue at 1st Street.

• Alison M. Grover, 17, Verona, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and for violations of her graduated driver's license (too many passengers) after police responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries and road blockage at 6th Avenue and 1st Street at 8:39 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11. Grover was northbound on 1st Street when she failed to stop at the stop sign at 6th Avenue and collided with a vehicle driven by Tyler W. Morrison, 18, Hollandale. New Glarus Area EMS transported a passenger in Grover's vehicle to a Madison hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Both vehicles were severely damaged and towed. The New Glarus Fire Department assisted.

• Police were called to an apartment building in the 400 block of 6th Avenue at 11:31 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, for a report of upstairs neighbors being loud. The complainants could not get to sleep with the noise and they wanted the neighbors warned. Police brought the issue to the attention of the upstairs neighbors and they were warned.

• Kurt R. Klein, 25, Chicago, was cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after police and Green County deputies checked the welfare of a person lying in the ditch on Elmer Road north of Valle Tell Drive at 2:09 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12. He was released to a responsible party at the New Glarus Woods State Park, where they were camping.

• Police responded to a 911 hangup traced to the New Glarus Woods State Park at 5:03 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12. It was a pocket dial, and everything was fine.

• A child custody dispute was reported in the 100 block of 2nd Street at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12. The children didn't want to go back over to the other parent's residence. Police are investigating.

• Smoke was reported in the 100 block of 6th Avenue at 1:17 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 13. Police located an enclosed fire pit being supervised by several people in a backyard.

• Charges of disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property are being referred to Juvenile Intake after police responded to a disturbance in the 200 block of 1st Avenue at 7:53 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Sunday, Oct. 13:

• Dustin D. Schmid, 20, Albany, was cited for driving without a valid license (second offense) after deputies were dispatched at 4:02 a.m. to help a motorist in the W5800 block of Wis. 11 in Monroe Township. Schmid had run out of gas.

• Brittany J. Collins, 24, Brodhead, was cited for driving with a suspended license, after deputies received a traffic complaint at 5:34 p.m. of a vehicle that had passed unsafely on Wis. 11 about a third of a mile west of County G in Spring Grove Township and identified Collins as the offending driver.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Friday, Oct. 11:

• Shasta L. Hixson, 20, Argyle, was cited for driving without a valid license or vehicle insurance at 11:04 a.m. on Wis. 23 in Willow Springs Township.

• Trash dumping on Buncombe Road in Benton Township was reported at 1 p.m.

• Jarrod A. Mair, 22, Gratiot, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance at 3:41 p.m. on Wis. 11 in Wayne Township.

• An erratic driver was reported at 4:01 p.m. on Wis. 23 in Willow Springs Township.

• Krista N. Bartelson, 21, Machesney Park, Ill., was cited for speeding at 5:35 p.m. on Wis. 81 in Seymour Township.

• Kyle G. Johnson, 22, Darlington, was cited for driving while intoxicated, failure to have control, driving without a valid license and having improper tires, following a one-car accident at 6:33 p.m. on Spring Brook Road in Wiota Township. He was westbound when his car veered into the opposite ditch, hit a utility pole guide wire, traveled down an embankment and hit a tree. Argyle Ambulance took Johnson to Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The 2001 Ford Taurus was extensively damaged and towed. The Argyle Fire Department, Woodford First Response and Alliant Energy assisted at the scene.

On Saturday, Oct. 12:

• Justin R. Holmes, 19, Argyle, was cited for transporting intoxicants as a driver, following a traffic stop at 3:28 a.m. on Main Street in Darlington. Two passengers, Dexter A. Ray, 18, and a 15-year-old male, both of Darlington, were cited for underage drinking.

• A deputy responded to a barking dog complaint at 6:48 a.m. at a location off Bridge Street in Gratiot.

• Teresa A. Jack, 51, Dubuque, Iowa, was cited for speeding at 7:54 a.m. on Wis. 11 in Shullsburg Township.

• Francis Heiser, 69, Davenport, Iowa, was cited for driving without proof of vehicle insurance at 9:01 a.m. on Wis. 11 in Shullsburg Township.

• A deputy assisted the Shullsburg Police Department with traffic control on Water Street in Shullsburg at 9:45 a.m. during the homecoming parade.

• Ryan C. Miller, 28, Benton, was cited for speeding at 12:26 p.m. on Wis. 81 in Darlington Township.

• Kyle J. Kitsemble, 24, Lone Rock, was cited for speeding at 12:30 p.m. on the Cheese Country Trail.

• Ivan Estrad-San Juan, 24, South Wayne, was arrested at 1:30 p.m. on Wis. 11 in Gratiot Township on charges of driving while intoxicated, driving without a valid license and operating left of center. He was later released to a responsible party after posting cash bond.

• Anthony J. Garippo, 55, LaGrange Park, Ill., was cited for speeding at 1:49 p.m. on Wis. 23 in Darlington Township.

• Juan M. Flores-Salinas, 32, Darlington, was cited for driving without a valid license or vehicle insurance and for unsafe lane deviation at 4:42 p.m. on Wis. 23 in Willow Springs Township.

• Numerous vehicles being operated in a reckless manner were reported at 7:25 p.m. on County W in New Diggings.

• An erratic driver was reported at 8:25 p.m. on Wis. 11 in Gratiot Township. A deputy located the vehicle and determined the driver was over-tired. No citations were issued.

• Ruben Moranchel-Tapia, 21, Monroe, was arrested on charges of driving without a valid license or vehicle insurance at 8:57 p.m. on Wis. 11 in Gratiot Township. He posted bond and was released.

• Suspicious activity involving an unknown vehicle driving to the back of a field was reported at 9:34 p.m. on County D in Fayette Township. A deputy made contact with the suspect vehicle and determined the occupants had permission to be in the area.

• Alejandrino Hernandez-Trujillo, 44, Darlington, was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended license and no vehicle insurance at 11:58 p.m. on Wis. 81 in Seymour Township. He was released after posting bond.

On Sunday, Oct. 13:

• A dog bite incident that occurred in a vehicle parked on Commerce Street in Belmont was reported at 1:50 a.m. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries.

• A passerby on County G in Argyle Township reported activity in a normally vacant residence at 2:15 a.m. A deputy checked and found the owner present.

• The theft of a credit card from a residence on 1st Street in Benton was reported at 10:57 a.m. The card was used to make purchases. A suspect was named.

• Linda S. Heidenreich, 48, Warren, Ill., was cited for inattentive driving following a Jeep vs. semi accident at 12:33 p.m. on County KK in Gratiot Township. Heidenreich collided her 2013 Jeep Patriot with a tractor-trailer unit driven by Kevin F. Doyle, 56, also of Warren. He was southbound, preparing to turn right into a field driveway. As he swung the semi wide to access the narrow drive, Heidenreich attempted to pass him on the right and collided with him. The Jeep came to rest in the ditch. The semi was disabled in the middle of the road. Heidenreich was treated for minor injuries by Gratiot First Response and Rural Medical Ambulance. Doyle was uninjured. Both vehicles were extensively damaged and towed. The Gratiot Fire Department and Wisconsin State Patrol assisted at the scene.

• A deputy met with people involved in a child custody dispute at 7:50 p.m. at a location on Ballard Road in Willow Springs Township.
