Albany Police

ALBANY - Julie M. Stevenson, aka Julie Pietrzak, 54, Joliet, Ill., was arrested Friday, March 22, on a warrant issued by DuPage County, Ill., for failure to appear in court. She is being extradited.



Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD - Matthew D. Schupbach, 29, Brodhead, was arrested in the 900 block of 19th Street at 6:40 p.m. Monday, March 18, on a warrant issued by the City of Beloit Municipal Court. He posted bond and was released.

• David A. Scofield, Jr., 24, Brodhead, was arrested in the 1900 block of 1st Center Avenue at 9:29 p.m. Friday, March 22, on charges of failure to obey a lawful order, driving with a revoked license and no vehicle insurance, improper display of license plates and non-registration of a vehicle. He was released pending court.

• Jacob L. Edwards, 20, Janesville, was cited for speeding in the 700 block of 23rd Street at 12:38 p.m. Monday, March 18.

• A 16-year-old Brodhead girl was cited for underage possession of alcohol at 1 a.m. Saturday, March 23, in the 400 block of 1st Center Avenue.



Darlington Police

DARLINGTON - Marcos Mermudez-Sanchez, 22, Darlington, was arrested on Galena Street at about 11:25 a.m. Saturday, March 23, on a warrant issued by Lafayette County. He was also cited for driving with a suspended license and no vehicle insurance. He posted bond on the warrant and was released pending court.

• Andrew Thomas Fessler, 40, Hazel Green, was cited for speeding at about 8:20 a.m. Thursday, March 14, on Galena Street.

• Samantha J. Noble, 21, South Wayne, was cited for speeding at about 2:25 p.m. Friday, March 22, on Galena Street.

• A 16-year-old from Darlington was cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at about 8:30 p.m. Friday, March 22, following an investigation at a residence on Wells Street.

• Erick Vargas-Santos, 20, Darlington, was cited for driving without a valid license following a traffic stop on Galena Street at about 11:05 p.m. Saturday, March 23. The person who came to give Santos a ride home, Marcel Garay, 40, Houston, Texas, was also discovered to be driving without a license and was also cited.

• Shannon Gabel, 21, Lancaster, was cited for driving while intoxicated at about 2 a.m. Sunday, March 24, on Wisconsin 23. Her passenger, Johnathon Trumm, 20, Lancaster, was cited for underage drinking.

• Alicia A. Douglas, 19, Darlington, was cited for driving without a valid license at about 1:40 p.m. Sunday, March 24, after police responded to a traffic complaint on Galena Street.



Monroe Police

MONROE - Joanna J. Dressler, 50, Monroe, was arrested in the 1100 block of 30th Street at 6:09 p.m. Monday, March 25, on an outstanding warrant issued by the Grant County Sheriff's Department for contempt of court. She posted the required bond and was released.

• Helen L. Winkler, 38, Monroe, was arrested for a probation violation at 7:16 p.m. Monday, March 25, in the 800 block of 8th Street. She was jailed.

• An unshoveled sidewalk was reported in the 500 block of 17th Avenue at 10:54 a.m. Friday, March 22. The property owner was previously warned, and now the case is being referred to the streets department to handle.

• A family member of a woman in the 2500 block of 9th Street reported at 1:19 p.m. Friday, March 22, that the woman's roommate used her name to order from a catalog. Police are still investigating the alleged fraud.

• A resident in the 800 block of 20th Avenue complained of a loud stereo in the neighborhood at 4:17 p.m. Saturday, March 23.

• A neighbor two blocks away complained about loud music at Leisure Lanes, 2308 6th Ave., at 11:27 p.m. Saturday, March 23.

• A caller at 4:43 a.m. Sunday, March 24, reported hearing people yell in the 2200 block of 16th Street. Police did not locate anyone yelling.

• A 19-year-old woman was reported for trespassing in an apartment complex in the 800 block of 6th Street at 1:25 p.m. Sunday, March 24.

• The owner of a vehicle parked in the 2500 block of 13th 1/2 Avenue reported at 2:43 p.m. Sunday, March 24, that an unknown person or people used a water-soluble marker to draw male genitalia and a smiley face on the vehicle.

• Vehicles parked on grass in a residential yard in the 500 block of 22nd Street were reported by a neighbor at 2:55 p.m. Sunday, March 24.

• Police are investigating a gas drive-off of $63.61 reported at 2:56 p.m. Sunday, March 24, at BP, 701 8th St.

• A dog owner was warned to quiet barking dogs after police responded to a neighbor's complaint at 10:52 p.m. Sunday, March 24, in the 1300 block of 16th Avenue.



New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - Andrew R. Converse, 23, Monticello, was cited for driving with a suspended license and not wearing a seatbelt in the 1100 block of Wisconsin 69 at 10:52 a.m. Saturday, March 23.

• Shelton D. Murphy, 27, Belleville, was cited for driving with a suspended license on Wis. 69 at 6th Avenue at 3:40 p.m. Sunday, March 24.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Caleb Z. Lyle, 20, Albany, was arrested on a charge of possessing drug paraphernalia used to inject heroin after deputies stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction in the N8000 block of Wis. 104 in Brooklyn Township at 6:41 p.m. Sunday, March 24. Lyle was also cited for speeding and driving without proof of vehicle insurance. He was jailed pending bond or court.

• Timothy S. Miller, 26, Brodhead, is charged in Green County Circuit Court with misdemeanor counts of bail jumping, disorderly conduct and intimidation of a victim, following an investigation of a one-vehicle crash with no injuries on County S at Wis. 59 in Sylvester Township. He had already left the accident scene when deputies discovered it at 4:27 a.m. Sunday, March 24. He later admitted to being intoxicated at the time of the crash. Miller failed to stop at the intersection and got stuck in the ditch. The vehicle sustained minor front-end damage and was impounded. Miller was cited for driving with a revoked license and no vehicle insurance, failure to stop at a stop sign, failure to wear a seatbelt and failure to notify law enforcement of the crash. In the course of the accident investigation, deputies learned that Miller drank that night at Sir Buk's Dance Club, W222 County KK, in violation of a signature bond on a previous charge. He also allegedly tried to kick a woman sitting in a vehicle parked in the lot of Red Apple Restaurant, 1019 8th St., Monroe, and instead kicked out the driver's side window. He is also charged that night with causing a disturbance in a residence in the 1000 block of 2nd Avenue in Brodhead, knocking over a headboard, throwing a television, taking away a cellphone from a woman who was trying to call police and physically fighting with two men who intervened. His signature bond was set Monday, March 25, at $2,000. He has a pre-trial conference set for May 7.

• The sheriff's department is seeking information related to a hit-and-run crash on a snowmobile reported at 3:08 a.m. Sunday, March 24, in the N2200 block of Twin Grove Road in Jefferson Township. A pickup truck northbound on Twin Grove Road failed to negotiate a curve and veered into the yard of a residence, where it collided with the snowmobile. The truck then continued northbound. The snowmobile was severely damaged. Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the sheriff's department at 608-328-9400 or Green County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-I-C-Crime.

• Steven R. Maybee, 51, rural Brodhead, was arrested on a first-offense charge of driving while intoxicated after deputies investigated a crash at 9:18 p.m. Monday, March 25, in the N3800 block of Park Road in Decatur Township. Maybee told deputies he swerved to miss a deer. The vehicle left the road and hit a tree. Maybee sustained injuries in the crash and walked away from the scene without contacting law enforcement. Deputies found Maybee at his residence. He was also cited for unsafe lane deviation and driving with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration, then released to a responsible person pending court. His vehicle was severely damaged and towed.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Following a traffic stop of two vehicles on U.S. 151 in Belmont Township at 2:28 p.m. Saturday, March 23, two drivers were detained. Ryder D. Anderson, 26, Tacoma, Wash., was arrested on a charge of possessing marijuana and cited for driving without a valid license and with no proof of vehicle insurance and failing to merge to an emergency vehicle. He posted bond at the Lafayette County Jail and was released. The other driver, Kyle E. Bearden, 21, New Glarus, was cited for driving without a valid license and failing to merge to an emergency vehicle. He was released.

• Mitchell L. Curran, 30, Browntown, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated at 8:09 p.m. Saturday, March 23, on Wis. 78 in Argyle Township. He was booked into the Lafayette County Jail and then released.
