Darlington Police

DARLINGTON - Deborah Jackson, 50, Shullsburg, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated on East Ann Street at 3:40 p.m. Friday, June 8, after she sideswiped a parked car.

- Luis Alfredo Lobato Romero, 27, Darlington, was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated with a child in the car (third offense), driving with a revoked license and violating probation conditions on Main Street at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, June 9, after police responded to a complaint of erratic driving on Fayette Road. Lobato Romero was also cited for driving without vehicle insurance.

- Steven L. Winters, 25, Madison, was arrested on Main Street at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday, June 9, on a warrant issued by Lafayette County. He posted bond and was released.

- Jeffrey G. Lancaster, 38, Darlington, was cited for disorderly conduct at 2:05 a.m. Sunday, June 10, following a disturbance on Main Street.

- Police have identified a suspect but are still investigating the case of a stolen motor vehicle from the Lafayette County Fairgrounds. The theft was reported at 7:55 a.m. Sunday, June 10. The Lafayette County Sheriff's Department eventually recovered the stolen vehicle after it was found crashed on Wisconsin 81 east of Darlington.

- Police impounded a brown-colored, female, collie-style dog found running at large in the area of the Dollar General on Friday, June 1. She is very friendly and wearing a chain collar. If you are the owner of the dog, know who the owner is or are interested in adopting the dog, please call Chief Jason King at (608) 776-4981.

- Police are seeking the public's assistance in locating two Bibles lost at the religious service offered Sunday, June 10, at the Festival Grounds during the Canoe Festival. The Bibles were accidentally left under the big-top tent on the grounds. One is burgundy; the other is brown suede. Both Bibles are described as large and heavy and contain items of sentimental value. Call King at 776-4981 with information.

Monroe Police

MONROE - Ryan A. Ciszewski, 41, and Helen L. Winkler, 37, both of Monroe, were charged Tuesday, June 12, in Green Count Circuit Court with Class B misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct following reports of domestic abuse investigated early Monday, June 11, by Monroe police. Ciszewski reportedly called police at 1:30 and 1:49 a.m. regarding a domestic dispute with Winkler in the 800 block of 8th Street. Officers were dispatched a third time to the same address when she called at 3:09 a.m. to allege that he had shoved her. Both were intoxicated, according to police. Ciszewski was arrested and jailed. He made an initial appearance in court Tuesday. Winkler's initial appearance is scheduled for July 9.

- A driver with the City of Monroe Water Department, Jack K. Morris, 58, Monroe, was cited for unsafe backing at about 3:15 p.m. Monday, June 11, after officers were dispatched to an accident with no injuries in the 1400 block of 17th Street. Morris collided with a legally parked vehicle owned by Raymond A. Johnson, Jr., 27, Monroe.

- A vehicle egging was reported at 11:35 p.m. Sunday, June 10, in the 700 block of 27th Avenue.

- Police are investigating a report at 1:40 a.m. Monday, June 11, that a woman threw eggs and barbecue sauce on her ex-boyfriend's vehicle in the 1700 block of 16th Street and then bragged about it on Facebook.

- An officer found graffiti written with a marker in the parking ramp at 1501 11th Street at 10:07 a.m. Monday, June 11, while investigating a report of a suspicious person in the parking ramp. The graffiti has since been removed.

- Police took a report at 10:11 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, that a coin-operated soap dispenser at Monroe Speed Wash, 703 22nd St., had been damaged in an apparent attempt to pry it open to steal coins.

- A man in the 100 block of North 20th Avenue called police at 5:12 p.m. Monday, June 11, claiming he lost $2,600 in an apparent phone scam. He told police he received a call informing him he won $2.5 million in a lottery but needed to pay the taxes on the money to get it. Police traced the calls to Philidelphia and New York City. The case is still under investigation.

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Brian L. Thompson, 53, rural Brooklyn, was arrested at 7:42 p.m. Monday, June 11, on a charge of domestic abuse-related disorderly conduct stemming from a disturbance that occurred Sunday, June 10, in a vehicle on Attica Road near Brooklyn Albany Road in the Town of Brooklyn. He was jailed pending bond or court.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Zachary L. Huett, 23, Shullsburg, was arrested at 1:13 p.m. Monday, June 11, on a valid warrant issued by Lafayette County. He posted bond and was released.

- Jonathan M. Austin, 45, Darlington, was cited for failure to maintain control after deputies responded at 9:36 p.m. Sunday, June 10, to a one-vehicle accident on Woodberry Road in the Town of Lamont. Austin was headed westbound when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road and hit a highway sign. The vehicle got a flat tire and was towed from the scene.
