Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Jan. 18:

• A deputy assisted Darlington Police with a 911 misdial at 2:13 a.m. on Christensen Drive in Darlington.

• Federico Gonzalez, 39, Monroe, was arrested on a valid warrant with the Green County Sheriff's Office at 5:25 a.m. Gonzalez was transported to the Lafayette County Jail where he remains in custody.

• Livestock on the road was reported at 7:49 a.m. to West Mound Road in Belmont Township.

• Debris in the road was reported at 10:52 a.m. on Wis. 23 in Gratiot Township.

• A deputy responded at 1:05 p.m. to Wis. 11 in Shullsburg Township for a citizen's assist.

• Suspicious activity was reported at 1:35 p.m. to Wis. 11 in New Diggings Township.

• Cesar S. Zopiyactle-Silvio was arrested for operating without a valid driver's license and no proof of insurance at 2:56 p.m. on Wis. 11, Village of South Wayne. Zipiyactle-Silvio was transported to the Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and released.

• A deputy responded at 5:21 p.m. to West Estey Street in Shullsburg for a welfare check.

• A hit-and-run complaint was reported at 6:07 p.m. to East Peace Street in Shullsburg.

• An animal problem was reported at 7:11 p.m. to South Warren Street in South Wayne.

• A parking problem was reported at 7:44 p.m. to West Center Street in South Wayne.

• Elvis L. Ladow, 34, Gratiot, was arrested on a valid warrant at 8:48 p.m. and was later released on a cash bond.

• Amos J. Breen, 35, Belmont, was arrested on a valid warrant by the Belmont Police Department at 9:33 p.m. and was later released on a cash bond.



New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - On Jan. 12:

• A suspicious person was reported at 9:55 a.m. in the 1300 block of Wis. 69. The report was linked to a suspicious person complaint from Monroe Police.

• Police found personal property at 9:25 a.m. in the 300 block of 2nd Street. The property was returned to its owner.

On Saturday:

• Police issued seven parking citations starting at 1:30 a.m. for violation of the winter alternate side parking ordinance.

• A dog running at large was reported at 8:02 p.m. The dog was located and is back with its owners.

• A civil issue was reported at 11:54 a.m. in the 1100 block of 2nd Street. The issue was in regard to a renter wanting his roommates removed. The complainant was advised of the call being civil in nature and the process he would have to do to evict the roommates.

• A dog running at large in the area of Hillside Circle was brought into the police department at 1:44 p.m. A picture of the dog was posted on the department Facebook account. The owner, Kyle F. Smith, 29, New Glarus, was cited for dog running at large.

On Sunday:

• Police issued nine parking citations for alternate side parking violations at three citations for violation of 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. parking restrictions.

• Police assisted the Green County Sheriffs Office at 2:33 a.m. with a call for suspicious persons in a yard on Edelweiss Road.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Jan. 18:

• Frederico Gonzales, 39, Monroe, was cited for operating without a valid driver's license at 4:53 a.m. when deputies made contact with a vehicle stuck in the snow in the middle of the road in the W5100 block of Weiss Lane in Monroe. Gonzales also had a felony warrant through the Lafayette County Sheriff's Office. Gonzalez was arrested on the warrant and was turned over to the Lafayette County Sheriff's Office.
