Monroe Police

MONROE - Denis C. Behring, 49, Monroe, was cited for failure to yield right of way at a stop sign after police responded at 6:08 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, to an accident with no injuries on Wisconsin 69 at 17th Street. Behring collided with a vehicle driven by Hugo Hernandez Herrera, 31, Monroe.

- Carol J. Santoro, 66, Monroe, was cited for inattentive driving after police responded at 6:37 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, to an accident with no injuries in the 2000 block of 9th Street. Santoro collided with a legally parked vehicle belonging to Steven W. Gerber, 31, Monroe.

- A caller at 11:47 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, reported a large white dog with a collar running at large in the 2600 block of 11th Avenue. Police couldn't catch it.

- A woman in the 1300 block of 16th Street reported at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, that her ex had texted her mother, a possible violation of a restraining order.

- An anonymous caller at 1:09 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, reported that cats, dogs and rabbits were not being adequately fed and watered at a business in the 200 block of 10th 1/2 Street. An officer stopped by the business and determined the complaint is unfounded.

- A caller at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, complained their neighbors were arguing at the Swiss Wheel Rooming House, 1100 30th St. The neighbors were warned to quiet down.

- Unauthorized purchases on a debit card were reported by a resident in the 1000 block of 13th Avenue at 12:26 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17. His brother had apparently allowed a female friend who was hard up for money to use the debit card number, and she used it more than he expected. Police are investigating leads.

- Police were called to a dispute over child custody at 2:34 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, in the 2700 block of 8th 1/2 Street. Police advised the complainants it is a civil matter and to talk to their attorneys.

- A 10-year-old boy stopped an officer on patrol at 3:38 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, to report another 10-year-old boy scratched him. The boys got into a dispute at a bus stop in the 2500 block of 14th Avenue. The officer warned them to behave and talked to their parents.

- Police were called twice Thursday, Jan. 17, to a dispute over non-tenants parking in tenant-only parking in the 1000 block of 13th Avenue. The first call came at 4:51 p.m. from a tenant. Police were again called at 6:03 p.m. when the dispute had escalated and people were shoving each other. Police told them to knock it off.

- Two at-large Boxer dogs were reported at 6:21 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, in the 700 block of 20th Street, but had run off by the time police arrived.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Benjamin W. Grossen, 25, Monroe, was arrested on a charge of recklessly endangering safety and cited for driving under the influence after a deputy observed a rollover crash on Wis. 59 near Monroe Sylvester Road in the Town of Sylvester at 8:15 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17. Grossen lost control on a curve, and his vehicle veered into the ditch and overturned. The vehicle was moderately damaged and towed. Grossen was jailed.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - David P. DeFilippo, 47, Round Lake Park, Ill., was cited for speeding on Wis. 11 in South Wayne at 12:36 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17.

- A deputy responded to a report of a neglected animal on Main Street in Benton at 11:35 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17.
