New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - On Feb. 13:

• Police responded for a burglar alarm at 9:04 p.m. in New Glarus. The alarm was accidentally set off by a cleaning person and there was no true emergency.

On Feb. 14:

• Police assisted a citizen at 10:26 a.m. who reported their vehicle was stuck in the car wash bay in the 1500 block of 2nd Street. It was found that the bay door would not open.

• A lost set of keys was reported at 1:58 p.m. in the 800 block of Wis. 69.

• Police responded to a business alarm at 6:29 p.m. in New Glarus. Everything was found to be OK and there was no true emergency.

On Feb. 15:

• Amber M. Wersal, 33, New Glarus, was cited for a seatbelt violation on 14th Avenue at 2nd Street.

• Trespassing was reported at 11:50 a.m. at a business in the 800 block of Wis. 69 asking police to remove an unwanted person. The person was removed without incident.

• Suspicious activity was reported at 2:50 p.m. at the New Glarus Elementary School. The caller reported a white van following school buses and loitering in the area of school bus stops. This case is under investigation.

On Feb. 16:

• A found wallet was turned in at 1:43 p.m. on Kubly Road at Elmer Road.

• Police served a citizen a five-day notice for non-payment of rent at 5:25 p.m. on 2nd Street.

• Uriel K. Mister, 34, Beloit, was cited for operating a motor vehicle without insurance at 9:12 p.m. on Wis. 69 at 11th Avenue.

On Feb. 17:

• Police issued two citations for alternate side parking violations.

• A Kia hubcap was found in the roadway and removed at 2:20 p.m. on Wis. 69 and County W.

• Shawn A. Oneill, 44, Monroe, was cited for illegal window tint on Wis. 69 at 6th Avenue.

• Suspicious activity was reported at 5:10 p.m. on Elmer Road. The caller requested the information be documented in case it turned into something bigger.

• Ryan A. McKittrick, 43, Fitchburg, was cited for theft of property following an investigation of a theft where items were removed from a parked vehicle in the 200 block of Industrial Drive. Police were able to recover all of the stolen items from McKittrick's residence located in the Fitchburg.

On Feb. 18:

• Suspicious activity was reported at 1:25 a.m. in the 200 block of Industrial Drive. The caller notified police that there was possible drug use in a vehicle. The vehicle was reported to have left the village prior to law enforcement arrival.

• Police responded at 12:15 p.m. for a welfare check on 5th Street. Contact was made with the subject and everything was fine.

• Police removed a sign from the middle of the roadway at 5:16 p.m. on 2nd Street at 1st Avenue.
