Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Jan. 29:

• A deputy responded to School Street in Gratiot for a 911 misdial.

• Harsasment was reported at 3:08 p.m. on East Liberty Street in Belmont.

• Livestock on the road was reported at 3:46 p.m. on Wis. 81 in Lamont Township.

• Suspicious activity was reported at 7:34 p.m. on Lake Road in Fayette Township.

• Donald T.D. Pitman, 19, Browntown, was cited for operating after suspension, no insurance and displaying false plates at 10:06 p.m. on County D, Wayne Township.

On Jan. 30:

• A deputy responded at 10 a.m. to Locust Street in Blanchardville for a 911 misdial.

• A traffic complaint was reported at 3:41 p.m. on West High Street in Shullsburg.

• Kaylie R. Berget, 18, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign at 6:40 p.m. on Wis. 81, Argyle Township.

• Littering was reported at 6:54 p.m. on Spruce Street in Argyle.

• Jonathan M. B. Averkamp, 21, Benton, was arrested for disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property and battery at 7:07 p.m. on West Main Street in Benton. Averkamp was brought to the Lafayette County Jail where he remains in custody. Grant County Sheriff's Office, Cuba City Police, Hazel Green Police, Jo Daviess County Sheriff's Office, Galena Police, Belmont Police and Benton Police assisted.



New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - On Jan. 22:

• A bad check issued to a business in New Glarus was reported at 10:45 a.m. The incident has been processed and is being held to see if the offender make good on the check in the allowed 10 days before a citation is issued.

• Disorderly conduct was reported at 12:11 p.m. in the 1600 block of 2nd Street. A juvenile male was reportedly threatening to harm a juvenile female. The juvenile male will be referred to Green County Human Service-Juvenile Intake for one count of disorderly conduct.

• Marttrell L. Dixon, 21, New Glarus, was cited for passing in a no passing zone and unreasonable and imprudent speed at 3:06 p.m. in the 1600 block of 2nd Street.

• Police assisted the Green County Sheriff with a disorderly conduct-type incident at 10:30 p.m. in New Glarus Township.

• Police conducted a welfare check at 11:35 p.m. on a juvenile in the village. The incident stemmed from police assisting Green County Sheriff.

On Jan. 23:

• Five parking citations were issued starting at 1:45 p.m. for violation of the winter parking ordinance.

• Police served family court papers on a respondent at 8:49 a.m. in New Glarus.

• Harassment was reported at 4:38 p.m. The matter is under investigation.

• A civil dispute was reported at 9:02 p.m. over some property. The incident was found to be a civil matter.

• Theft from a motor vehicle was reported at 10:14 p.m. in the 200 block of Industrial Drive. The matter is under investigation.

On Jan. 24:

• A set of keys was found at the post office and turned over to police at 7:23 p.m. The keys were returned to their owner.

On Jan. 25:

• Police issued two parking citations starting at 1:02 p.m. for violation of the winter parking regulations.

• Chelsey A. Voigt, 24, Belleville, was arrested for misdemeanor bail jumping at 9:42 p.m. in the 100 block of 5th Avenue. It was learned after she was consuming intoxicants, which was a violation of her bond conditions from a Dane County case. Voigt was incarcerated at the Green County Jail.

On Jan. 26:

• Police investigated a 911 call at 9:19 a.m. Contact was made. There was no emergency, it was a pocket dial.

• Dustin R. Strait, 30, Monroe, was cited at 3:29 p.m. for illegal window tint on Wis. 69 at 14th Avenue.

• Police assisted Monticello Police with a possible stolen vehicle at 3:47 p.m. on Urban Road. The vehicle was returned to its owner and was determined to be a civil issue.

• A bite order was served to a dog owner at 9:07 p.m. on 5th Street after a dog bite was reported. The victim was a family member, and the case was referred to the Green County Health Department for follow.

On Jan. 27:

• Police Cited Michael W. Para, 50, Browntown, was cited for operating a motor vehicle without insurance at 10:13 p.m. in the 1100 Block of Highway 69.

On Jan. 28:

• Police assisted the Green County Sheriff with a disturbance call in the Town of New Glarus.

• Police assisted a citizen with a lockout at 11:29 a.m. in the 600 block Railroad Street. The vehicle was unlocked without damage.



Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD - For the week of Jan. 21-Jan. 27, the Brodhead Police Department reported 14 calls for service, 10 vehicle registrations, 48 citizen assists, 14 security checks, six assists with other agencies, 19 traffic stops, 11 911 calls, three fire calls and six EMS calls.

On Jan. 21:

• A 32-year-old Ft. Atkinson man was cited for operating without a valid license and child restraint violation at 7:25 a.m. in the 1900 block of East 9th Avenue.

• A 55-year-old Juda man was cited for driver failure to wear seat belt at 11:04 a.m. in the 600 block of 1st Street. A 49-year-old passenger in the vehicle was cited for ride in vehicle without seatbelt.

• A 50-year-old man from San Jose, California, was cited for speeding at 12:48 p.m. in the 600 block of 1st Street.

• Vehicle theft was reported at 5:49 p.m. in the 700 block of East 3rd Street. This case remains under investigation.

• A 36-year-old Monroe man was arrested for operating under the influence of a controlled substance (2nd offense) and possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia at 6:02 p.m. in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue.
