NEW GLARUS Police

NEW GLARUS - On Tuesday, Dec. 16:

• The New Glarus Police Department assisted the Green County Sheriff's Department with stopping a vehicle for a traffic complaint in the county at 10:12 p.m.

• Police responded at 10:33 p.m. to the 2400 block of Wisconsin 69 for a suspicious vehicle near a business. An investigation revealed that the vehicle was supposed to be in the area and no other action was taken.

On Wednesday, Dec. 17:

• A resident came to the police department at 9:20 a.m. to report a theft of a checkbook from his vehicle. Police searched the complainant's vehicle and located the checkbook.

• At 5:47 p.m., police received a complaint of two smaller dogs running at large in the 800 block 6th Avenue. The dogs were not able to be caught.

On Thursday, Dec. 18:

• At 10:36 a.m., police received a complaint in regards to a suspicious phone call of obtaining money or two U.S. Marshals would be coming to the residence. The caller was advised it was a scam and they were advised of another one going around stating they are sending IRS agents.

• At 6:28 p.m., police cited Joel E. Peters, 38, Darlington, for driving a motor vehicle without insurance after being stopped for a traffic infraction at the 1100 block of Wis. 69.

On Friday, Dec. 19:

• At 2:15 a.m., police were dispatched to the 400 block of 5th Avenue in regards to a person knocking on their door. The investigation revealed that it was in fact a family member whom accidentally locked themselves out of the house.

• At 1:17 p.m., police received a complaint in regards to two dogs running at large on 3rd Avenue. The dogs were caught and brought to the police department and were later returned to the owners.

• At 4:27 p.m., police received a complaint from a citizen who had received a threatening statement from a subject. The complainant wanted the incident documented.

On Saturday, Dec. 20:

• At 1:56 p.m., police responded to an active business alarm on Wis. 69. The building was checked and everything was fine.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - At 3:09 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, deputies responded to a domestic dispute at the residence in the Village of New Glarus. Dire N. P. Wolf, 39, New Glarus, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct. Wolf was jailed pending court or bond.
