Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Wednesday, Dec. 11:

• Luke D. Ballentine, 23, Evansville, was cited for first-offense OWI, and Kevin M. Kelley, 43, Belleville was cited for knowingly assisting a person fleeing an accident scene after police responded at 10:52 p.m. to a one-vehicle accident on County X in Brooklyn Township. Ballentine, the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, was traveling east when he failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle entered the ditch, rolled twice and came to rest on its wheels in a field. Ballentine was also cited for failure to maintain control of the vehicle and failure to notify law enforcement of the crash. Both Ballentine and Kelley were released pending court.

On Thursday, Dec. 12:

• David C. Kraft, 37, Brodhead, was arrested on a warrant for child support after police stopped a vehicle at 8:08 p.m. on Wis. 11 in Monroe Township. Kraft remains jailed pending court.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Thursday, Dec. 12:

• A deputy responded to a complaint of animal neglect at 11:30 a.m. on River Road in Argyle Township.

• Jacob W. Engelke, 30, Platteville, was cited at 12:49 p.m. for failure to notify police of an accident after his truck hit a bridge guardrail on Center Drive Road in Seymour Township at approximately 8:50 p.m. the previous night. Engelke reported he was distracted by his cellphone before his vehicle left the roadway. The truck sustained extensive damage. Engelke reported a minor facial injury.

• Joseph A. Lartz, 24, Browntown, was arrested at 4:32 p.m. on Center Street in South Wayne for possession of paraphernalia and operating after revocation. Lartz also had a warrant out of Dane County. He remains jailed.
