Albany Police

ALBANY - Sean M. Steffen, 27, Lena, Ill., was arrested Saturday, Dec. 8, on charges of driving while intoxicated (first offense), driving with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration and operating left of center.

• Daniel G. Benkert, 26, Albany, was arrested Saturday, Dec. 8, on charges of battery and disorderly conduct under domestic-abuse laws.

• Olivia L.J. Halvorson, 24, Belleville, was cited Tuesday, Dec. 4, for trespass to a dwelling.

• A 17-year-old Albany youth was cited Friday, Dec. 7, for two counts of theft.

• Trae A. Seffrood, 19, Monticello, was cited Saturday, Dec. 8, for marijuana possession and driving with a suspended license.

• Christopher P. Tadych, 19, Blanchardville, was cited Saturday, Dec. 8, for underage drinking and having open intoxicants in a vehicle.

• Chelsea B. Holler, 19, New Glarus, was cited Saturday, Dec. 8, for underage drinking and having open intoxicants in a vehicle.

Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD - Jeffrey J. Surrell, 45, Monroe, was cited Sunday, Dec. 2, for writing worthless checks.

• Russell J. Rucker, 50, Orfordville, was cited for speeding in the 600 block of 1st Street at 6:41 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2.

• Kenneth L. Hawley, 43, Orfordville, was cited for disorderly conduct Wednesday, Dec. 5, stemming from an incident that occurred Nov. 18.

• James C. Laundy, 68, Mount Horeb, was cited for non-registration of an auto at 10:59 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, in the 400 block of East 9th Avenue.

• Dean M. Trewin, 50, Platteville, was cited for speeding in the 600 block of 1st Street at 2:40 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7.

• James E. Lyke, 50, Milton, was cited for speeding in the 600 block of 1st Street at 4:07 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7.

• Marianne R. Gernetzke, 41, Belleville, was cited for speeding in the 600 block of 1st Street at 8:42 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8.

Monroe Police

MONROE - Daniel F. Baumgartner, 26, Monroe, was arrested at a residence in the 2800 block of 14th Street at 6:31 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, on several outstanding warrants issued by the Monroe Police Department and Green County Sheriff's Department. He was jailed.

• Kyrene R. Trevino, 27, Monroe, was arrested in the 100 block of Swiss Court at 6:13 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, on an outstanding warrant issued by the Freeport Police Department. She was jailed.

• Amber K. Kluever, 25, Browntown, was arrested on a charge of misdemeanor bail jumping at about 1 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, at 15th Street and 13th Avenue. An officer on patrol saw a woman, later identified as Kluever, sitting on the sidewalk with her head in her hands and a man standing over her. The officer found that Kluever had been drinking, a violation of her bond condition on a previous charge.

• Ciara F. Block, 17, Monroe, was cited for truancy at 8:18 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, in the 1600 block of 26th Street.

• Police were dispatched at 12:26 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, to a report of cars being egged in the 700 block of 22nd Avenue. An officer located a vehicle matching the complainant's description with egg residue on it in the parking lot by Stop-N-Go. The four people in the vehicle denied throwing eggs, but when the officer asked them to step out, several eggs rolled out from the floorboard. The officer also spotted some egg cartons. Bradley R. Butler, 18, Monroe, and three juvenile girls were cited for throwing missiles from a moving vehicle. The girls, ages 14, 14 and 15, were also cited for violating curfew.

• Ashley M. Skaskal, 25, Monroe, was cited for inattentive driving after police responded at 10:27 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, to a two-vehicle accident without injuries in the 200 block of 11th Avenue. Skaskal collided with a vehicle driven by Beverly A. Hilliard, 75, Monroe.

• A 77-year-old man came to the police station at 9:59 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, to report that several items were missing from his wallet, including his driver's license and Social Security card.

• A woman in the 1100 block of 14th Avenue complained at 11:42 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, that she had received derogatory text messages from her estranged husband. She also reported that his divorce lawyer called her at work. Police warned both to stop.

• A tenant in an apartment building the 700 block of 10th Avenue Court reported a burglary at 8:54 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7. He said an acquaintance called him while he was out of the apartment doing laundry and asked if she could come by to visit. He told her he busy with laundry but would be back soon. When he got back from doing laundry, he found the acquaintance and an unknown man unloading electronics from the apartment into a vehicle - including a television, iPod, Play Station 3 and laptop computer. They drove off when they saw him, he reported. The case is still under investigation.

• A recharging cord for a power wheelchair was reported lost somewhere around the 800 block of 13th Avenue at 1:47 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8. If found, call dispatch at (608) 329-2400.

• A resident reported a vehicle egging in the 1200 block of 10th Street at 10:53 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8.

• A resident in the 1300 block of 21st Avenue reported a house egging at 12:07 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8.

• A gas drive-off was reported at 12:53 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Kwik Trip, 1019 9th St.

• Police responded to a complaint of a puppy sitting in the elements in the 1800 block of 10th Avenue at 2:05 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 8. An officer called the number on the puppy's collar and warned the owner to take better care of the animal.

• A woman called police at 2:50 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, to complain that her neighbors in the 2500 block of 12th Street sit in the driveway in their pickup trucks and rev the motors, waking her baby. Officers did not locate the offenders.

Monroe Police

• Police received a complaint at 8:12 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, of a dog left in a house that's been foreclosed on in the 900 block of 10th Street. The animal barks and howls. Police are following up with the dog's possible owner.

• Green County Humane Society volunteers out walking the shelter's dogs reported at 1:27 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, that two unknown yellow labs had just followed them back to the shelter. The dogs are being kept at the shelter, pending a reunion with their owner(s) or adoption.

New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - Valerie J. Weihman-Rock, 55, Argyle, was cited for an expired vehicle registration and driving with a suspended license at 4:07 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, on 2nd Street at 4th Avenue.

• Todd A. Bowens, 49, Cobb, was cited for driving without a valid license (third offense) after police stopped him for an equipment violation on Wisconsin 69 and County W at 5:31 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7.

• Sterling D.D. Morrow, 26, Madison, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance after police stopped him for an equipment violation on Wis. 69 at 6th Avenue at 7:20 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7.

• Owen F. L. Nause-Braun, 17, New Glarus, was cited for unnecessary vehicle acceleration in the 300 block of 2nd Street at 11:24 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8.

• Timothy T. Richter, 43, Verona, was cited for speeding in the 900 block of Wis. 69 at 6:33 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9.

• Tyler J. Grindle, 21, Monroe, was cited for an expired vehicle registration at 10:28 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, on 2nd Street at 14th Avenue.

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Brandon J. Murray, 31, Brodhead, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated (first offense) after deputies stopped a vehicle for passing in a no-passing zone in the W4900 block of County KK in the Town of Monroe at 11:14 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8. Murray was also cited for passing in a no-passing zone. He was released pending court.

• Cecelia Zepeda, 18, Monroe, was arrested on a charge of bail jumping after deputies checked on an occupied, disabled vehicle in the N3900 block of Wis. 69 in the Town of Monroe at 4:07 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 9. Zepeda was also arrested on a warrant issued by the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department for failure to pay a fine and cited for underage drinking. She was jailed pending bond or court.

• Kyle L. Trumphy, 20, Orangeville, Ill., was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated (first offense) after deputies responded to a rollover accident on Wis. 69 north of Gutzmer Road in the Town of Mount Pleasant at 4:22 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 9. Trumphy told deputies he fell asleep. His vehicle hit a guardrail, rolled over end to end and came to a rest on its wheels. Trumphy was taken by New Glarus EMS to the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison for treatment of his injuries. The vehicle was severely damaged and towed. Trumphy is also cited for failure to maintain control and driving without a valid license. He was released pending court.

• Michael J. Jones, 46, Juda, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated (first offense) after deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on County E near Atkinson Road in the Town of Albany at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9. Jones lost traction while negotiating a curve, and the vehicle slid sideways across both lanes of traffic until his front end collided with the rear driver's side panel of a vehicle driven by Karen S. Stites, 49, Monticello. Jones left the scene of the accident but was stopped by deputies. Neither Jones or Stites were injured. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and were driven from the scene. Johns was also cited for driving with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration and failure to maintain control of the vehicle.

• Eric P. Blackwood, 34, Dodgeville, was cited for driving too fast for conditions after deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash on Wis. 39 near Durst Road in the Town of New Glarus at 1:23 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9. Blackwood was eastbound when he lost control of the vehicle on the snow-covered road. The vehicle veered into the ditch, went airborne after hitting a culvert and then came to a rest in the ditch. No injuries were reported. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Angela M. Farrey, 33, Platteville, was taken into custody at a residence on East Truth Street in Shullsburg at 9:02 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, on an outstanding warrant issued by the Lafayette County Circuit Court for charges related to an incident in October. She was jailed.

• Troy A. Lattin, 23, Argyle, was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated and operating left of center at 1:41 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, on Wis. 78 in the Town of Argyle. He was later released to a responsible party.

• Dack E. Damron, 33, New Glarus, was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated and operated left of center at 12:54 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, on Wis. 78 in the Town of Argyle. He was later released to a responsible party.

• Fawn A. Shannon, 29, Platteville, was cited for driving with a suspended license and without vehicle insurance at 4:20 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, on Wis. 11 in Benton.

• Kyle S. Smith, 26, Monroe, was cited for speeding and driving without proof of vehicle insurance at 9:14 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, on Wis. 11 in the Town of Gratiot.

• Allison J. Thiede, 30, Chicago, was cited for speeding at 11:48 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, on Wis. 81 in the Town of Elk Grove.

• Grant S. Moest, 19, Winslow, Ill., was cited for driving without a valid driver's license and operating left of center after deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident on Wisconsin 11 in the Town of Wayne at 5:58 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 9. Moest reported he fell asleep at the wheel. His vehicle drifted into the opposite lane and hit a vehicle driven by Trevor P. Johnson, 23, Gratiot. Moest was taken by Green County EMS to Monroe Clinic for treatment of injuries he sustained in the collision. Johnson reported no injuries. Both vehicles were extensively damaged and towed. The South Wayne Fire Department and South Wayne First Response assisted at the scene.

• Troy A. Ruegsegger, 42, Blanchardville, was cited for inattentive driving and seatbelt violations after deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident with injuries at 9:53 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, on Center Street in Blanchardville. Ruegsegger was eastbound when he got distracted by moving an item from the dashboard to the backseat and hit and moderately damaged a legally parked vehicle owned by Larry Kurschner, 74, Blanchardville. A passenger, Carter Ruegsegger, 11, Blanchardville, was transported by Blanchardville EMS for treatment of injuries. Ruegsegger's 2010 Toyota was extensively damaged and towed. The Blanchardville Fire Department assisted at the scene.

• Donald A. Bahr, 58, Platteville, was cited for failure to obey a stop sign on County F in the Town of Elk Grove at 9:01 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9.

• A dog was reported running at large on Dobbs Road in the Town of Lamont at 11:11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8.

• A deputy responded to a complaint of a dog running at large in the area of Creek Drive in Benton at 6:14 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8.

• Telephone harassment was reported at a residence on Hill Street in Blanchardville at 6:50 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9.
