Monroe Police

MONROE - On Thursday, Nov. 29:

- Owen L. Nally, 28, Monroe, was arrested at 6:27 p.m. in the 2300 block of 5th Avenue on an outstanding warrant issued by the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department for contempt of court. Police made the arrest after responding at 5:39 p.m. to a dispute over child custody between Nally and a woman. Officers determined the custody dispute was a civil matter, then, after running his name, discovered Nally was wanted for arrest. He was taken to the county jail, where he later posted the required cash bond and was released.

- Nikolina J. Heimann, 37, Monroe, was arrested and charged with battery and disorderly conduct after police responded at 7:43 p.m. to a 911 call from a 32-year-old man claiming that Heimann was pushing and slapping him. Officers saw red marks on the man. The fight started over a cellphone, and Heimann also reportedly damaged a computer monitor. She was jailed pending court.

- Police started an investigation into a truancy reported at 7:19 a.m. at Monroe High School.

- A pair of glasses was found in the 1100 block of 20th Avenue and turned over to police at 12:11 p.m. To claim, call dispatch at (608) 329-2400.

- A resident in the 1700 block of 14th Street reported at 12:17 p.m. that an unknown vandal left garbage strewn about the yard and Crisco or another greasy substance smeared on the house.

- A resident called police at 12:41 p.m. to complain of school-aged kids hanging out, littering and smoking at the intersection of 17th Avenue and 26th Street. An officer checked out the area but did not locate the kids.

- Police responded to a complaint of stray cats in the 1300 block of 15th Avenue at 2:33 p.m. and traced the source to an area resident who has been feeding the cats outside. The resident was informed that anyone feeding a cat is considered the cat's owner, and in this case the number of cats exceeded the city's limit for one household to have.

- Loud music and yelling were reported by an anonymous complainant at 5:31 p.m. in an apartment building in the 300 block of 4th Street. The tenants were warned to quiet down.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Thursday, Nov. 29:

- Scott D. Frommelt, 39, Benton, was cited for driving without proof of vehicle insurance at 10:40 a.m. on County J in the Town of Benton.

- Armin G. Wand II, 56, Barbara A. Wand, 57, and Tammy Bickett, 34, all of Argyle, were cited for seatbelt violations at 12:34 p.m. on Wisconsin 81 in the Town of Lamont.

- Hervey Trejo, 18, Shullsburg, was cited for a seatbelt violation and driving without proof of vehicle insurance at 12:38 p.m. on Mineral Street in Shullsburg.

- A deputy investigated a report of animal neglect at 2 p.m. at a location on County K in the Town of Darlington.
