Darlington Police

DARLINGTON - Marvin L. Amaya-Mendez, 26, Darlington, was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated, driving without a valid license (fifth offense) and having open intoxicants in a vehicle at about 2:40 a.m. Saturday, April 13, following a traffic stop on Cornelia Street. He was released pending court.



Monroe Police

MONROE - On Monday, April 15:

• Melvin V. Zoellick, 32, Monroe, was arrested on a charge of domestic abuse-related disorderly conduct after police investigated a report at 3:12 p.m. from the alleged victim about an incident that occurred the previous day. Zoellick was released after posting cash bond. A mandatory court appearance is pending.

• Phyllis A. Knisley, 57, Monroe, was cited for allowing a dog to run at large after police responded to complaints that Knisley's dog was loose in the neighborhood around 23rd Street and 14th Avenue. The first call came at 3:56 p.m. from a woman who felt a nudge and turned around to see a pitbull growling at her. She whacked it with a bag. Soon after, another caller in the area reported a dog of the same description acting aggressively. This is Knisley's third dog-at-large citation since December, according to court records.

• A Roadmaster bicycle was found in Twining Park at 9:15 a.m. and brought to the police station. To claim, call dispatch at 608-329-2400.

• The top half of a copper water fountain was reported stolen from a residential yard at 1:16 p.m. in the 1400 block of 10th Street.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Nicky D. Johnson, 57, Darlington, was cited for speeding on Wis. 81 in Lamont Township at 4:11 p.m. Sunday, April 14.

• Jorge D. Lopez Morazan, 40, Belmont, was cited for driving without a license and unreasonable and imprudent speeding on County G in Belmont Township at 9:40 p.m. Sunday, April 14.

• A deputy responded to a report of a disorderly person at a residence on Summit Road in Shullsburg Township at 7:10 p.m. Friday, April 12.

• The theft of a solar-powered voltage fencer off a fencepost on County W in Monticello Township was reported at 10:50 a.m. Saturday, April 13.

• A deputy responded at 3:52 p.m. Saturday, April 13, to check the welfare of a person reportedly seen lying in the grass near Wis. 11 in New Diggings Township.

• A deputy took a report of a dispute over personal property between several people at a residence on Wis. 81 in Darlington Township at 6:35 p.m. Saturday, April 13.

• Several juvenile suspects have been identified in a case of vandalism reported at 3:16 a.m. Sunday, April 14. A vehicle parked at a residence on High Point Road in Seymour Township had been damaged.



On Monday, April 15:

• Andre Culberson, 49, Blanchardville, was cited for non-registration of an auto after a deputy responded at 8:28 a.m. to a two-vehicle accident on County H in Blanchard Township. Culberson was westbound when he collided with an eastbound vehicle driven by Lisa A. Sikora, 56, Blanchardville, as their vehicles both crossed the center line on a narrow bridge. Neither driver reported injuries. Their vehicles were moderately damaged and towed.

• Devin L. Feryance, 24, Benton, was cited for an expired vehicle registration at 9:21 p.m. following a traffic stop on County J in Benton Township.

• Disorderly conduct that occurred on West Moundview Avenue in Belmont was reported at 7:35 a.m.

• A deputy took a traffic complaint at 1:38 p.m. of a vehicle passing a stopped school bus on County H in Benton Township. The incident remains under investigation.
