Norman Haegele, age 83, of Monroe, died on Sunday, June 7, 2009 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born on April 23, 1926, the son of John and Anna (Disch) Haegele. Norman and Crystal Norland were married on June 20, 1948 at the Primrose Lutheran Church. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Norman farmed in the New Glarus and Monticello areas for several years and worked for Surge Milking Systems, Inc., for over 33 years.
Surviving are his daughter, Noreen Reineke of Sun Prairie; son, Dennis Haegele of Monroe; granddaughter, Michelle (Ted) Crary of Baraboo; great-granddaughters, Emma and Whitney; sister, Helen Gmur of New Glarus and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and his wife, Crystal and a brother-in-law, Herbert Gmur.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2009 at Grace Lutheran Church. Officiating will be the Rev. John Tabaka, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, all in Monroe.
A memorial fund is being established in Norman's memory.
